「不斷祈求吧，就會給你們；不斷尋找吧，就會找到；不斷敲門吧，就會為你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得到；尋找的，就找到；敲門的，就為他開門。

人人向鄰舍說謊，他們說話油嘴滑舌，心懷二意。

如果我的心以罪為念，主就不會垂聽。但神確實垂聽了，他留心聽了我禱告的聲音。

你要以耶和華為樂，他就把你心裡所求的賜給你。

你們伸開雙手禱告的時候，我必掩目不看你們；就算你們多多禱告，我也不垂聽。你們的雙手沾滿了血！

錫安的民——住在耶路撒冷的人哪，你必不再哭泣！他必定恩待你，他聽了你哀求的聲音，就必回應你。

你們在嘲笑誰呢？向誰張大嘴巴、伸長舌頭呢？難道你們不是叛逆之子、虛謊之種嗎？

我在苦楚中呼求耶和華；耶和華回應了我，把我安置在寬闊之地。

我所喜悅的禁食，難道不是以下這樣嗎？鬆開邪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，使被壓迫的人得自由，折斷一切的軛，

我們悖逆、否認耶和華，背道不跟隨我們的神；說欺壓、反叛的話；心懷虛假的話語，並由心發出。

家族神像說虛無的話，占卜者見虛假的象，又說虛妄的夢，徒勞地安慰人；因此，人們如羊流離，他們困苦，因為沒有牧人。

雅各來到他父親那裡，說：「我父啊！」以撒說：「我在這裡！我兒啊，你是誰呢？」

因為你們的雙手被血染汙，你們的指頭被罪孽玷汙；你們的嘴唇說出虛謊之言，你們的舌頭吐露不義之語。沒有人以公義申訴，沒有人以信實申辯；人人都依靠虛無，說話虛妄，懷上禍患，生下邪惡；

耶和華呼喚撒母耳，撒母耳就回應：「我在這裡！」然後他跑到以利那裡，說：「我在這裡，你呼喚我了嗎？」以利說：「我沒有呼喚你，回去睡吧。」他就去睡了。耶和華再次呼喚撒母耳，撒母耳就起來，到以利那裡，說：「我在這裡，你呼喚了我嗎？」以利說：「我沒有呼喚你，我兒，回去睡吧。」那時撒母耳還不認識耶和華，耶和華的話語也沒有向他啟示。耶和華第三次又呼喚撒母耳，撒母耳就起來，到以利那裡，說：「我在這裡，你呼喚我了嗎？」以利這才明白，是耶和華在呼喚這孩子。
