这岂是我所要的禁食，为人所用以刻苦己心的日子吗？我难道只是叫人如芦苇般低头，铺上麻布和灰烬吗？你能称此为禁食，为耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？

难道这是我要的禁食吗？难道刻苦己身、像芦苇一样垂着头、躺在麻布和炉灰上就是禁食吗？这就是你们所谓的禁食，所谓的蒙耶和华悦纳的日子吗？

使人刻苦自己的日子，这样的禁食是我拣选的吗？难道只是叫人垂头像一根苇子，用麻布和炉灰铺在下面吗？你可以称这是禁食，为耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？

难道这就是我所喜悦的禁食，这就是让人刻苦己心的日子吗？难道是让人像芦苇一样垂着头，以麻布和灰烬为铺吗？难道这就是你所谓的禁食，这就是耶和华所悦纳的日子吗？

這樣禁食豈是我所揀選、使人刻苦己心的日子嗎？豈是叫人垂頭像葦子，用麻布和爐灰鋪在他以下嗎？你這可稱為禁食、為耶和華所悅納的日子嗎？

我所選擇、使人刻苦自己的日子難道是這樣的禁食麼？難道只是叫人垂頭像燈心草，拿麻布和爐灰當床鋪麼？難道你要把這樣叫做禁食，作為使永恆主悅納的日子麼？我所選擇的真禁食豈不是以下這些行為：

我所選禁食之日、豈如是乎、令人苦其心志、俯首若蘆、以麻與灰、布於身下、此豈稱為禁食、為耶和華所悅納之日乎、

爾禁食之時、卑以自牧、屈抑若蘆、身衣麻布、坐於塗炭、我耶和華豈悅此乎。

人自刻苦、垂頭如葦、以麻布塵埃為床、如是禁食之日、豈我所悅乎、爾豈可稱為禁食乎、可視為主所悅之日乎、

Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?

Do you think that is the way I want you to fast? Is it only a time for people to make themselves suffer? Is it only for people to bow their heads like tall grass bent by the wind? Is it only for people to lie down in ashes and clothes of mourning? Is that what you call a fast? Do you think I can accept that?

Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord?

You humble yourselves by going through the motions of penance, bowing your heads like reeds bending in the wind. You dress in burlap and cover yourselves with ashes. Is this what you call fasting? Do you really think this will please the Lord?

Will the fast I choose be like this: A day for a person to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the LORD?

Is it a fast like this that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it for bowing one’s head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the Lord?

Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the Lord?

Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Jehovah?

Will the fast I choose be like this: A day for a person to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a day acceptable to the Lord?

Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul?[ is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes[ under him]? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

Is this really the kind of fasting I want? Do I want a day when people merely humble themselves, bowing their heads like a reed and stretching out on sackcloth and ashes? Is this really what you call a fast, a day that is pleasing to the LORD?

Is this the fast that I have chosen? A day for a man to humble his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under himself? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh?

「你要對這地所有的民眾和祭司說：『這七十年來，你們在五月和七月禁食、哀哭，是真的為我禁食嗎？

去宣告耶和華所悅納的禧年、我們神的報復之日，去安慰所有悲哀的人，

耶和華如此說：「在悅納的時候，我回應了你；在拯救的日子，我幫助了你。我要守護你，立你作萬民之約，為要復興這地，使荒涼的繼業之地得以傳承。

於是我轉向主耶和華，以禱告、懇求、禁食、披麻蒙灰來尋求他。我向耶和華我的神禱告、認罪，說：「哦，主啊，大而可畏的神，你向那些愛你並遵守你誡命的人持守你的約和慈愛！我們犯了罪，行事扭曲，作惡背叛，偏離了你的誡命和法規，沒有聽從你的僕人眾先知——他們奉你的名向我們的君王們、首領們、祖先們和這地所有的子民說話。「主啊，公義在於你；至於我們猶大人、耶路撒冷的居民，以及你驅趕到遠近各地的全體以色列人，因為對你行事不忠，都滿面羞恥，就像今天這樣！耶和華啊，我們和我們的君王們、首領們、祖先們都滿面羞恥，因為我們對你犯了罪！憐憫和赦免在於主我們的神；我們卻背叛了他，沒有聽從耶和華我們神的話，沒有遵行他藉著他的僕人眾先知在我們面前所立的律法。「全體以色列人都違背、偏離了你的律法，不聽從你的話；因此神的僕人摩西的律法上所記的詛咒和審判都傾瀉在我們身上，因為我們對神犯了罪。神實現了他的話語，就是他針對我們、針對那些審判我們的審判官所說的，為要使極大的禍患臨到我們身上；像這樣在耶路撒冷所發生的禍患，在普天之下從來沒有發生過。照著摩西的律法上所記的，這一切禍患都臨到我們身上；然而我們卻沒有懇求耶和華我們神的恩寵，好使我們回轉離開自己的罪孽，留心你的真理。於是耶和華有意使這禍患臨到我們身上，因為耶和華我們的神所做的一切都是公義的，但我們卻沒有聽從他的話。「主我們的神哪，你曾用大能的手把你的子民從埃及地領出來，為自己成就了名聲，就像今天這樣；我們犯了罪，做了惡！主啊，現在求你照著你一切的公義，從你的城耶路撒冷和你的聖山收回你的怒氣和你的怒火！因我們的罪過和我們祖先的罪孽，耶路撒冷和你的子民成了我們四圍所有的人辱罵的對象。「我們的神哪，現在求你垂聽你僕人的禱告和懇求；主啊，為你自己的緣故，求你使你的臉照亮你荒涼的聖所！我的神哪，求你側耳聽，求你垂聽！求你睜眼看我們的荒涼和這被稱為你名下的城，因為我們在你面前呈上的懇求不是因著我們的義，而是因著你豐盛的憐憫。主啊，求你垂聽！主啊，求你赦免！主啊，求你留心聽並且行動！我的神哪，為你自己的緣故，求你不要遲延，因為你的城和你的子民都是被稱為你名下的。」

可是我，耶和華啊，我向你禱告！神哪，在悅納的時候，求你藉著你豐盛的慈愛，藉著你信實的救恩，回應我吧！

宣告主所悅納的禧年。」

你們也就像活石，被建造成一座屬靈的殿宇，進入聖潔的祭司體系，好藉著耶穌基督獻上蒙神悅納的屬靈祭物，

「你當去，把所有在蘇薩中的猶太人都聚集起來，為我禁食，三天三夜不吃不喝；我和我的使女們也會如此禁食。然後我就去見王，雖然這樣不符合法令；我如果因此滅亡，就滅亡吧！」

不要效法這世代，要藉著理性的更新而改變，使你們可以分辨什麼是神的旨意——那美善、可喜悅、完美的旨意。

尼尼微人就相信神，並宣告禁食，無論尊貴的或卑微的，都披上麻布。這話語傳到尼尼微王的時候，他從自己的寶座上起來，從身上脫下王袍，披上麻布，坐在灰燼中。然後他頒布諭令，說：「在尼尼微，王和大臣有令：『無論人或牲畜，牛或羊，都不可嘗什麼，不可吃什麼，也不可喝水。人和牲畜都當披上麻布；各人都當迫切地向神呼求，從自己邪惡的道路上、自己手裡的殘暴中轉回。

那時在各個省，在王令和他的法令所傳到的地方，猶太人都大大哀慟；他們禁食、哭泣、哀號，許多人躺在麻布和灰燼上。

於是他們問：『我們禁食，你為什麼不看；我們刻苦己心，你為什麼不理會呢？』看哪！在禁食的日子裡，你們實際上尋求自己所喜悅的，欺壓一切為你們做工的人；
