我必不永遠責備，也不長久發怒，否則人的靈——我所造的生命氣息，在我面前就會衰竭。

我必不永远相争，也不长久发怒，恐怕我所造的人与灵性都必发昏。

我必不长久控诉，也不永远怀怒，因为我虽使灵性发昏，我也造了人的气息。

I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created.

I will not find fault with my people forever. I will not always be angry with them. If I were, I would cause their spirits to grow weak. The people I created would faint away.

For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before me, and the breath of life that I made.

For I will not fight against you forever; I will not always be angry. If I were, all people would pass away— all the souls I have made.

For I will not accuse you forever, and I will not always be angry; for then the spirit would grow weak before me, even the breath, which I have made.

難道你要對我們發怒到永遠嗎？你要延續你的怒氣，直到萬代嗎？

然而神有憐憫，贖清了他們的罪孽，沒有施行毀滅；他多次使他的怒氣轉消，沒有發盡他的怒火。他顧念他們不過是血肉之軀，是一陣去而不返的風。

再者，我們有肉身的父親來管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們，何況對這位萬靈之父，我們難道不更要服從他而活著嗎？

他不長久責備，也不永遠懷怒。他沒有照著我們的罪過對待我們，也沒有照著我們的罪孽報應我們。因為天離地有多麼高，他的慈愛向敬畏他的人也多麼大；東離西有多麼遠，他使我們的過犯離我們也多麼遠；父親怎樣憐憫自己的兒女，耶和華也怎樣憐憫敬畏他的人；因為他知道我們的本體，記念我們不過是塵土。至於世人，他的年日如草一樣，他興旺如野地的花，經風一吹，就不復存在，連自己的地方也不再認識它。

神耶和華創造諸天，展開穹蒼，鋪張地和地所出的一切，又把氣息賜給地上的眾人，把靈賜給行在其中的人——神耶和華如此說：

耶和華就說：「我的靈不會永遠住在人裡面，因人是血肉之軀；他的年日只可以到一百二十年。」

那時塵土要歸回大地，像原來那樣；靈也要歸回賜靈的神。

耶和華的話語，就是默示，是關於以色列的：展開諸天、奠定大地的根基、造人裡面之靈的耶和華宣告：
