He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

What the law could not do since it was limited by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending His own Son in flesh like ours under sin’s domain, and as a sin offering,

They ridiculed him:“ You’re that man’s disciple, but we’re Moses’ disciples.We know that God has spoken to Moses. But this man— we don’t know where He’s from!”

or to governors as those sent out by him to punish those who do what is evil and to praise those who do what is good.

You are to tell him: This is what the Lord of Hosts says: Here is a man whose name is Branch; He will branch out from His place and build the Lord’s temple.

They shouted back,“ Not this man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.

When they had completed everything according to the law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.The boy grew up and became strong, filled with wisdom, and God’s grace was on Him.

Then she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and she wrapped Him snugly in cloth and laid Him in a feeding trough— because there was no room for them at the lodging place.

Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart.And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.
