But Zion said,“ The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

But the city of Zion said,“ The Lord has deserted me. The Lord has forgotten me.”

Yet Jerusalem says,“ The Lord has deserted us; the Lord has forgotten us.”

Zion says,“ The LORD has abandoned me; the Lord has forgotten me!”

Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice due to me is passed away from my God?

But thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.Thou hast abhorred the covenant of thy servant: Thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.Thou hast broken down all his hedges; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.All that pass by the way rob him: He is become a reproach to his neighbors.Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries; Thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.Yea, thou turnest back the edge of his sword, And hast not made him to stand in the battle.Thou hast made his brightness to cease, And cast his throne down to the ground.The days of his youth hast thou shortened: Thou hast covered him with shame.[ SelahHow long, O Jehovah? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, And forsake us so long time?

How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: Nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications, When I cried unto thee.

I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart; And my spirit maketh diligent search.Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be favorable no more?Is his lovingkindness clean gone for ever? Doth his promise fail for evermore?Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies?[ Selah

therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave unto you and to your fathers, away from my presence:

I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?
