哪知喪子寡居這兩件事、一眨眼之際、一日之間就臨到你了！正在你多行邪術、極力施符咒時，這兩件事就完完全全臨到你身上了！

喪子和寡居這兩件事必在一日之內突然臨到你！你的法術再多，符咒再有威力，這兩件事也必全然臨到你！

一日之間、俄頃之際、二者臨爾、為嫠喪子、在爾多行邪術、廣施符呪之時、其災必悉臨爾、

不知喪子為嫠、此二難必在一日俄頃間臨爾、爾雖多行邪術、廣施符咒、此二難亦勃然勃然或作全然臨爾、

Both of these will overtake you in a moment, on a single day: loss of children and widowhood. They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.

But both of these things will happen to you in a moment. They will take place on a single day. You will lose your children. And you will become a widow. That is what will happen to you. All your evil magic and powerful spells will not save you.

These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.

Well, both these things will come upon you in a moment: widowhood and the loss of your children. Yes, these calamities will come upon you, despite all your witchcraft and magic.

These two things will happen to you suddenly, in one day: loss of children and widowhood. They will happen to you in their entirety, in spite of your many sorceries and the potency of your spells.

But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.

But these two things shall come to you In a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness Because of the multitude of your sorceries, For the great abundance of your enchantments.

but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

These two things will happen to you suddenly, in one day: loss of children and widowhood. They will happen to you in their entirety, in spite of your many sorceries and the potency of your spells.

But these two[ things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries,[ and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Both of these will come upon you suddenly, in one day! You will lose your children and be widowed. You will be overwhelmed by these tragedies, despite your many incantations and your numerous amulets.

But these two things will come to you in a moment in one day, the loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in their full measure, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.

人自謂平康安固、而禍突至、猶妊婦劬勞、其人不得免、

爾邑之人、譬諸娼妓、具殊色、有淫行、屢行邪術、蠱惑庶民、故罹斯害。

猝然喪敗、殲滅殆盡、

自昔迄今、爾惑左道、信巫覡、試使立於此、能小補乎、能勝敵乎、爾謀夫孔多、有人仰觀天象、占察星辰、每值月朔、以卜未來、以定吉凶、使其咸興、庶可救爾。

故頃刻間、災害數至、即饑饉、痛哭、死亡、火爇、蓋鞫之之上帝、乃大能之主、天下諸王、素與巴比倫行淫、專事華靡、見厥火炎炎、必哭之哀、懼害及身、遙立云巴比倫大邑、素稱鞏固、一時刑至、哀哉、

使民戰慄、蓋我耶和華已定厥志、攻巴比倫、使之荒蕪、無人居處斯言必應。

凡猶豫不信、可憎兇暴淫亂巫覡、拜偶像、言誕妄者、皆必受苦於火坑、坑有硫火、沒後之沉淪如此、

大聲召諸博士、太史、卜師、巴比倫哲士咸至、王告之曰、有能讀斯文字、解其義者、身衣緋衣、項繫金索、為國之相、職居其三、

召諸博士賢人、巫覡太史、既至王前、王命、占夢、

惡者之至、藉撒但力、其妙用異跡奇事、無非偽為、詭詐百出、自棄者為所惑、蓋彼不願受真理致得救、

曰、毋稱我拿阿米、乃稱我馬喇、蓋至能者困苦我也。

後馬倫基連亦死、遺拿阿米、無夫無子。

以弓撻少壯、不恤孩提、不憫孕字。昔巴比倫富甲萬邦、為迦勒底人所尊、厥後必為上帝所敗、若所多馬蛾摩拉然。自茲以後、代無居人、亞喇伯人不張其幕、牧者不使羊憩息、其境為野獸所藏伏、其室為鴟鴞所棲止、雌鴕鳥居處於斯、魑魅踴躍於斯。暴獸嗥於深宮、野犬遊於華殿、其時將屆、其日伊邇。

近邑門、有舁死者出、其母獨生此子而嫠、邑民送者甚眾、主見、憫之曰、勿哭、

萬有之主耶和華曰、我將勃然而興、滅巴比倫遺民、塗抹其名、延及王之宗室、淪胥以亡、掃除巴比倫之邑、變為水澤、蝟集其處。

當言於耶和華曰、爾言必滅斯邦人民畜群、刧掠一空、地變荒蕪、歷代若此、言竟則繫書於石、投之百辣河中。曰耶和華降災於巴比倫、使彼困乏、沉而不浮、有如此書、於是耶利米之言畢矣。

有能天使舉大石如磨、投於海、曰、巴比倫大邑、當猝然傾圮、不復得見、有如此石、鼓琴作樂、品簫吹角之音、不復聞於爾間、百工不復居於爾間、磨聲不再聞於爾間、燈光不復照於爾間、新娶者、與新婦之語、不復聞於爾間、爾商旅乃世上大夫、萬國以爾巫術迷惑、

凡梟獍、巫覡、淫亂、兇暴、拜偶像、好誑言者、出之邑外、

於是博士賢人、太史卜師、咸集、余告以所夢、彼不能解其兆焉、

耶路撒冷赤子、雖曰眾多、未有人扶爾導爾者、二難並至、饑饉薦臻、干戈不息、將滅斯邦、孰能慰藉爾、以解爾憂。
