一日之間、夫喪子殤、二難並至。爾惑左道、信巫覡、邪慝方張、患難已集、

不知喪子為嫠、此二難必在一日俄頃間臨爾、爾雖多行邪術、廣施符咒、此二難亦勃然勃然或作全然臨爾、

Both of these will overtake you in a moment, on a single day: loss of children and widowhood. They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and all your potent spells.

But both of these things will happen to you in a moment. They will take place on a single day. You will lose your children. And you will become a widow. That is what will happen to you. All your evil magic and powerful spells will not save you.

These two things shall come to you in a moment, in one day; the loss of children and widowhood shall come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many sorceries and the great power of your enchantments.

Well, both these things will come upon you in a moment: widowhood and the loss of your children. Yes, these calamities will come upon you, despite all your witchcraft and magic.

These two things will happen to you suddenly, in one day: loss of children and widowhood. They will happen to you in their entirety, in spite of your many sorceries and the potency of your spells.

But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.

But these two things shall come to you In a moment, in one day: The loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come upon you in their fullness Because of the multitude of your sorceries, For the great abundance of your enchantments.

but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Both of these will come upon you suddenly, in one day! You will lose your children and be widowed. You will be overwhelmed by these tragedies, despite your many incantations and your numerous amulets.

But these two things will come to you in a moment in one day, the loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in their full measure, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.

當人們正說「和平」、「安全」的時候，毀滅那時就突然臨到他們，就像孕婦的臨產陣痛那樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

為此，在一天之內她所受的災害，就是死亡、悲傷和饑荒，就要來到。她將要在烈火中被燒掉，因為主、神——審判她的那一位是強有力的。」地上的眾君王，就是那些與她行淫亂、一同驕奢淫逸的，當看見焚燒她時的煙，就會為她捶胸哀哭。他們因懼怕她所受的折磨，就遠遠地站著，說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，強大的巴比倫城啊！因為一時之間，你的審判就來到了！」

但那些膽怯的、不信的、可憎的、殺人的、淫亂的、行邪術的、拜偶像的，和所有說謊的人，他們的份就在燃燒著烈火和硫磺的湖裡。這是第二次的死亡。」

王大聲高呼，要人把占卜者、迦勒底人和算命者帶來。王開口對巴比倫的智慧人說：「任何人讀出這文字，並把它的釋義講明給我，他就必身穿紫袍，項戴金鏈，在國中掌權，位居第三。」

於是王吩咐人召來術士、占卜者、行巫術的和迦勒底人，要他們把王的夢告訴王。他們就來了，站在王面前。

這不法之人的到來，是出於撒旦的作為，對那些正在滅亡的人，使用一切能力、虛假的神蹟和奇事，並且使用一切不義的詭計，因為他們不接受那能使他們得救的真理之愛。

娜娥米對她們說：「不要叫我娜娥米，要叫我瑪拉，因為全能者使我受盡苦痛；

後來，瑪倫和基連兩個人也死了，留下娜娥米，既沒有了兩個孩子，也沒有了丈夫。

他們的弓箭必把少年人射爛，他們不憐憫婦人腹中的胎兒，他們的眼也不顧惜小孩。巴比倫——列國的華美，迦勒底人所誇耀的光榮，必像神覆滅的所多瑪和格摩拉那樣；那地必永無人煙，世世代代無人居住；阿拉伯人不會在那裡支搭帳篷，牧人也不會讓羊群躺臥在那裡；曠野的走獸卻會躺臥在那裡，咆哮的野獸必占滿他們的房屋，鴕鳥住在那裡，野山羊在那裡跳躍，土狼在城樓、豺狗在華美的宮殿嚎叫。巴比倫的那一刻臨近了，它的時日必不延長！

當他接近城門口的時候，看哪，有一個死人被抬出來了。這人是獨生兒子，他的母親又是寡婦。一大群城裡的人陪著她。主看見那寡婦，就對她動了憐憫之心，向她說：「不要哭了！」

「我必起來攻擊他們！」萬軍之耶和華如此宣告。「我必把巴比倫的名號、餘剩者、子孫後代都剪除！」耶和華如此宣告。「我必使巴比倫成為豪豬的占居之地，使它成為泥水沼澤；我必用毀滅的掃帚將它掃淨！」萬軍之耶和華如此宣告。

隨後，一位強有力的天使拿起一塊像大磨石那樣的石頭，把它丟進海裡，說：「大巴比倫城也將這樣被猛烈地扔下去，絕不會再找到了！彈琴的、奏樂的、吹笛的、吹號之人的聲音，在你中間絕不會再聽到了！各種手藝的工匠，在你中間絕不會再找到了！磨石的聲音，在你中間絕不會再聽到了！燈的亮光，在你中間絕不會再照耀了！新郎和新娘的聲音，在你中間絕不會再聽到了！因為你的商人一向是地上的大人物，又因為萬國都被你的邪術所迷惑，

那些犬類、行邪術的、淫亂的、殺人的、拜偶像的，以及所有愛虛假、行虛假的人，都在外面。

於是術士、占卜者、迦勒底人和算命者都來了；我就向他們說了這夢，他們卻不能把這夢的釋義顯明給我。

你所生的眾子中，沒有一個人帶領你；你養大的眾子中，沒有一個人緊拉著你的手。毀壞與破敗，饑荒與刀劍，這兩組事情已經臨到你，誰會為你悲哀呢？誰會安慰你呢？

可是，其餘沒有被這些災害所殺的人，還是不悔改離開自己手所做的，不停止拜鬼魔和那些金、銀、銅、石、木的偶像——它們既不能看、也不能聽、更不能走。他們也不悔改離開自己那些殺人、邪術、淫亂、偷竊之事。
