因此，祸患要临到你身；你不知何时发现灾害落在你身上，你也不能除掉；所不知道的毁灭也必忽然临到你身。

但灾祸临到你，你不知如何驱除；灾害落在你身上，你也无法除掉，你所不知道的毁灭必忽然临到你身上。

故必遭患難、昧於所從、不能自脫、災害忽臨、難以逆料。

Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you.

So horrible trouble will come on you. You will not know how to use your evil magic to make it go away. Great trouble will fall on you. No amount of money can keep it away. Something terrible will happen to you all at once. You will not see it coming ahead of time.

But evil shall come upon you, which you will not know how to charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, for which you will not be able to atone; and ruin shall come upon you suddenly, of which you know nothing.

So disaster will overtake you, and you won’t be able to charm it away. Calamity will fall upon you, and you won’t be able to buy your way out. A catastrophe will strike you suddenly, one for which you are not prepared.

But disaster will happen to you; you will not know how to avert it. And it will fall on you, but you will be unable to ward it off. Devastation will happen to you suddenly and unexpectedly.

But evil will come on you Which you will not know how to charm away; And disaster will fall on you For which you cannot atone; And destruction about which you do not know Will come on you suddenly.

人正在說平安穩妥的時候，毀滅性的災禍就突然臨到他們，好像生產的痛苦臨到懷胎的婦人一樣，他們絕不能逃脫。

於是主人大怒，把他送去服刑，等他把所欠的一切還清。

忘記神的人哪！你們要思想這事，免得我把你們撕碎，沒有人能搭救。

於是耶和華的使者出去，在亞述營中擊殺了十八萬五千人；到了早晨，有人起來，所見的都是死屍。

同時我們的敵人說：“趁著他們不知道，還未看見之前，我們就進入他們中間，殺死他們，使那工程停止。”

他們食慾大動的時候，我必為他們擺設筵席，使他們喝醉，狂歡亂叫，然後永遠沉睡，不再醒來（這是耶和華的宣告）。我必使他們像羊羔，像公綿羊和公山羊一樣下到屠宰之地。示沙克怎麼竟被攻取！全地所稱讚的怎麼竟被佔領！巴比倫在列國中怎麼竟成了令人驚駭的對象！大海上漲漫過巴比倫，它被洶湧的波浪淹沒。

“所寫的文字是：‘彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。’這文字的意思是這樣：‘彌尼’就是神已數算了你國度的年日，使國終止；‘提客勒’就是你被稱在天平上，顯出你的缺欠；‘毘勒斯’（“毘勒斯”即“烏法珥新”的單數式）就是你的國要分裂，歸給瑪代人和波斯人。”於是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鍊戴在他的頸上，又宣告他在國中掌權，位列第三。當夜，迦勒底人的王伯沙撒被殺。

所以，你應當回想你是怎樣領受、怎樣聽見的；應該遵守，也應該悔改。你若不警醒，我就要像賊來到一樣。我甚麼時候來到你那裡，你決不能知道。

“地上的眾王，就是跟她一同行邪淫、驕奢無度的，看見焚燒她的煙的時候，就必為她痛哭捶胸。他們因為害怕她所受的痛苦，就遠遠地站著，說：‘有禍了！有禍了！這大城，巴比倫，這堅固的城啊！一時之間你的審判就來到了！’

到了半夜，耶和華把埃及地所有的長子，就是從坐王位的法老的長子，直到監牢裡遭囚禁的人的長子，以及所有頭生的牲畜，都擊殺了。在那一夜，法老本人和他所有的臣僕，以及全埃及的人都起來了；在埃及有極大的哀號，因為沒有一家不死人的。

我告訴你，除非你還清最後的一個小錢，否則決不能從那裡出來。”
