I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.

I cause light to shine. I also create darkness. I bring good times. I also create hard times. I do all these things. I am the Lord.

Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?

Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yea, God hath made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything that shall be after him.

But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought; that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the Earth— Jehovah, the God of hosts, is his name.

But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evil- doers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

Give glory to Jehovah your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.

But with an over- running flood he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.

Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirreth up the sea, so that the waves thereof roar; Jehovah of hosts is his name:

All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Ho Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, the staff in whose hand is mine indignation!I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

When he giveth quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? Alike whether it be done unto a nation, or unto a man:

Thou makest darkness, and it is night, Wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth.The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God.The sun ariseth, they get them away, And lay them down in their dens.Man goeth forth unto his work And to his labor until the evening.

At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy it;if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;if they do that which is evil in my sight, that they obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

And angels that kept not their own principality, but left their proper habitation, he hath kept in everlasting bonds under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Jehovah will give strength unto his people; Jehovah will bless his people with peace.

wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved for ever.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.
