Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:“ For your sake, I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring all of them down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing.

你们的救赎主耶和华——以色列的圣者说：“为了你们的缘故，我必派大军进攻巴比伦，使迦勒底人坐着他们引以为荣的船逃亡。

你们的救赎主、以色列的圣者、耶和华这样说：“因为你们的缘故，我已经派人到巴比伦去，我要使所有的迦勒底人都像难民一样下来，都坐在他们素来自夸的船下来。

你们的救赎主，以色列的圣者耶和华如此说：“为你们的缘故，我已经派人到巴比伦去，要把所有的人作为难民带下来，使迦勒底人的欢声变为哀歌。

耶和華－你們的救贖主、以色列的聖者如此說：因你們的緣故，我已經打發人到巴比倫去；並且我要使迦勒底人如逃民，都坐自己喜樂的船下來。

你們的救贖主、以色列的聖者、耶和華這樣說：“因為你們的緣故，我已經派人到巴比倫去，我要使所有的迦勒底人都像難民一樣下來，都坐在他們素來自誇的船下來。

那贖回你們的、以色列之聖者、永恆主這麼說：『為了你們的緣故我已經差遣人到巴比倫去；我必使他們都下來、做逃難之民，使迦勒底人、其歡呼都流為憂傷。

你們的救贖主，以色列的聖者耶和華如此說：「為你們的緣故，我已經派人到巴比倫去，要把所有的人作為難民帶下來，使迦勒底人的歡聲變為哀歌。

贖爾之耶和華、以色列之聖者云、以爾之故、我將遣人至巴比倫、使逃亡之迦勒底人、乘其喜樂之舟而來、

以色列族之聖主耶和華曰、我欲救爾、遣人至巴比倫、毀諸門楗、迦勒底人駕舟、囂然不靖、終亦必亡。

救爾之主、即以色列之聖主如是云、緣爾之故、我遣人至巴比倫、毀諸門楗、使迦勒底人、駕宴樂之舟以逃遁、

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ For your sake I will send to Babylon and bring down as fugitives all the Babylonians, in the ships in which they took pride.

The Lord sets his people free. He is the Holy One of Israel. He says,“ People of Israel, I will send an army to Babylon to save you. I will cause all the Babylonians to run away. They will try to escape in the ships they were so proud of.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ For your sake I send to Babylon and bring them all down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships in which they rejoice.

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:“ For your sakes I will send an army against Babylon, forcing the Babylonians to flee in those ships they are so proud of.

This is what the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: Because of you, I will send an army to Babylon and bring all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans in the ships in which they rejoice.

This is what the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:“ For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And will bring them all down as fugitives, Even the Chaldeans, into the ships over which they rejoice.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel:“ For your sake I will send to Babylon, And bring them all down as fugitives— The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.

Thus saith Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring down all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing.

This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: Because of you, I will send to Babylon and bring all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans in the ships in which they rejoice.

Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry[ is] in the ships.

This is what the LORD says, your protector, the Holy One of Israel:“ For your sake I send to Babylon and make them all fugitives, turning the Babylonians’ joyful shouts into mourning songs.

Behold, the land of the Chaldeans. This people didn’t exist. The Assyrians founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their towers. They overthrew its palaces. They made it a ruin.

This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies, says:“ I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.

For I am Yahweh your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.Since you have been precious and honored in my sight, and I have loved you, therefore I will give people in your place, and nations instead of your life.

Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against those who dwell in Lebkamai, a destroying wind.I will send to Babylon strangers, who will winnow her. They will empty her land; for in the day of trouble they will be against her all around.Against him who bends, let the archer bend his bow, also against him who lifts himself up in his coat of mail. Don’t spare her young men! Utterly destroy all her army!They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and thrust through in her streets.For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, by his God, by Yahweh of Armies; though their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.“ Flee out of the middle of Babylon! Everyone save his own life! Don’t be cut off in her iniquity; for it is the time of Yahweh’s vengeance. He will render to her a recompense.Babylon has been a golden cup in Yahweh’s hand, who made all the earth drunk. The nations have drunk of her wine; therefore the nations have gone mad.Babylon has suddenly fallen and been destroyed! Wail for her! Take balm for her pain. Perhaps she may be healed.“ We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed. Forsake her, and let’s each go into his own country; for her judgment reaches to heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.‘ Yahweh has produced our righteousness: come, and let’s declare in Zion the work of Yahweh our God.’“ Make the arrows sharp! Hold the shields firmly! Yahweh has stirred up the spirit of the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is against Babylon, to destroy it; for it is the vengeance of Yahweh, the vengeance of his temple.

“ I will render to Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight,” says Yahweh.

Kill all her bulls. Let them go down to the slaughter. Woe to them! For their day has come, the time of their visitation.Listen to those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Yahweh our God, the vengeance of his temple.“ Call together the archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp against her all around. Let none of it escape. Pay her back according to her work. According to all that she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against Yahweh, against the Holy One of Israel.Therefore her young men will fall in her streets. All her men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says Yahweh.“ Behold, I am against you, you proud one,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies;“ for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.The proud one will stumble and fall, and no one will raise him up. I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour all who are around him.”Yahweh of Armies says:“ The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together. All who took them captive hold them fast. They refuse to let them go.Their Redeemer is strong: Yahweh of Armies is his name. He will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

“ Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don’t conceal: say,‘ Babylon has been taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed! Her images are disappointed. Her idols are dismayed.’For a nation comes up out of the north against her, which will make her land desolate, and no one will dwell in it. They have fled. They are gone, both man and animal.“ In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh,“ the children of Israel will come, they and the children of Judah together; they will go on their way weeping, and will seek Yahweh their God.They will inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying,‘ Come, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.’My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have caused them to go astray. They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place.All who found them have devoured them. Their adversaries said,‘ We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.’“ Flee out of the middle of Babylon! Go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they will set themselves in array against her. She will be taken from there. Their arrows will be as of an expert mighty man. None of them will return in vain.Chaldea will be a prey. All who prey on her will be satisfied,” says Yahweh.“ Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses;

Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says:“ I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; who says of Jerusalem,‘ She will be inhabited;’ and of the cities of Judah,‘ They will be built,’ and‘ I will raise up its waste places;’who says to the deep,‘ Be dry,’ and‘ I will dry up your rivers;’Who says of Cyrus,‘ He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’ even saying of Jerusalem,‘ She will be built;’ and of the temple,‘ Your foundation will be laid.’”Yahweh says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him, and strip kings of their armor; to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be shut:“ I will go before you and make the rough places smooth. I will break the doors of bronze in pieces and cut apart the bars of iron.I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that it is I, Yahweh, who call you by your name, even the God of Israel.For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel my chosen, I have called you by your name. I have given you a title, though you have not known me.I am Yahweh, and there is no one else. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known me,

But now Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel, says:“ Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.

All who handle the oars, the mariners and all the pilots of the sea, will come down from their ships. They will stand on the land,and will cause their voice to be heard over you, and will cry bitterly. They will cast up dust on their heads. They will wallow in the ashes.They will make themselves bald for you, and clothe themselves with sackcloth. They will weep for you in bitterness of soul, with bitter mourning.In their wailing they will take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying,‘ Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the middle of the sea?’When your wares went out of the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.In the time that you were broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company fell within you.All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid. They are troubled in their face.The merchants among the peoples hiss at you. You have become a terror, and you will be no more.”’”

For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name. The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of the whole earth.For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, even a wife of youth, when she is cast off,” says your God.“ For a small moment I have forsaken you, but I will gather you with great mercies.In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting loving kindness I will have mercy on you,” says Yahweh your Redeemer.

The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more:merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you. All things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,saying,‘ Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.’ Every ship master, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying,‘ What is like the great city?’They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying,‘ Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!’ For she is made desolate in one hour.“ Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her.”A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying,“ Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.

They sang a new song, saying,“ You are worthy to take the book and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer.

“ Israel is a hunted sheep. The lions have driven him away. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.”Therefore Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says:“ Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

“ Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me. He has crushed me. He has made me an empty vessel. He has, like a monster, swallowed me up. He has filled his mouth with my delicacies. He has cast me out.May the violence done to me and to my flesh be on Babylon!” the inhabitant of Zion will say; and,“ May my blood be on the inhabitants of Chaldea!” will Jerusalem say.Therefore Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.Babylon will become heaps, a dwelling place for jackals, an astonishment, and a hissing, without inhabitant.
