耶和華必在他們上面顯現，祂的箭如閃電射出。主耶和華必吹響號角，乘南方的暴風而來。

尼尼微啊，耶和華已發出有關你的命令：「你的名不會傳於後世。我要摧毀你神廟中雕刻和鑄造的偶像。我要為你掘好墳墓，因為你毫無用處。」

耶和華吹一口氣，草就枯乾，花也凋殘。人類誠然像草。

我要用旋風把他們吹散到陌生的萬國中，使他們的土地荒涼、杳無人跡，因為他們使美好的土地一片荒涼。』」

耶戶殺了亞哈家留在耶斯列的親屬、大臣、朋友和祭司，一個不留。

耶和華斥責一聲，祂的鼻孔一吹氣，海底就顯現，大地也露出根基。

儘管以法蓮在眾弟兄中最強盛，但炙熱的東風——耶和華的風要從沙漠颳來，使清泉枯竭，水井乾涸。他儲藏的一切珍寶都要被擄去。

他下面的根莖枯乾，上面的枝子枯萎。他從世上銷聲匿跡，無人記得他的名字。他從光明中被趕入黑暗，他被逐出這個世界。他在本族中無子無孫，他所居之地無人生還。

刹那間，荊棘還沒有把鍋燒熱的工夫，上帝必除滅他們。

他無法逃脫黑暗，火焰要燒焦他的嫩枝，上帝口中的氣要毀滅他。他不可自欺，信靠虛空，因為虛空必成為他的回報。在他離世以前，虛空必臨到他，他的枝子再不會青綠。他必像一棵葡萄樹，葡萄未熟已掉落；又像一棵橄欖樹，花剛開便凋零。

而是按公義審判貧窮人，以公正為受苦者斷案。他必用口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺戮惡人。

看啊，耶和華的怒氣像暴風一樣襲來，像旋風一樣吹到惡人頭上。

他們何曾像風中的碎稭，像被暴風捲去的糠秕？

那時，恐懼如風暴襲擊你們，災難如旋風臨到你們，憂愁和苦難吞沒你們。

預備殺戮他的子孫吧，因為他們的祖先罪惡深重，免得他們興起統治世界、到處建造城邑。」萬軍之耶和華說：「我必攻擊巴比倫，剷除巴比倫的名號、餘民和後裔。這是耶和華說的。

他們被上帝的氣息所毀，被上帝的怒氣所滅。

我必驚動亞述王的心，讓他聽見風聲後便返回本國，使他在那裡死於刀下。』」

使它們在栽種的當天早上就生長開花，也必一無所獲。你們得到的只是艱難和無盡的痛苦。

焚燒之地——陀斐特早已為亞述王預備好了，那裡又寬又深，堆著許多木柴，耶和華的氣必如同一股硫磺火點燃那些木柴。
