「我立大地根基的時候，你在哪裏？你若明白事理，只管說吧！你知道是誰定地的尺度，是誰把準繩拉在其上嗎？地的根基安置在何處？地的角石是誰安放的？那時，晨星一同歌唱；神的眾使者也都歡呼。「當海水衝出，如出母胎，誰用門將它關閉呢？是我用雲彩當海的衣服，用幽暗當包裹它的布，為它定界限，又安門和閂，說：『你只可到這裏，不可越過；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。』

那時，他還沒有創造大地和田野，並世上頭一撮塵土。他立高天，我在那裏，他在淵面的周圍劃出圓圈，上使穹蒼堅硬，下使淵源穩固，

我又看見一個白色的大寶座和那坐在上面的；天和地都從他面前逃避，再也找不到它們的位置了。

你能尋見神的奧祕嗎？你能尋見全能者的極限嗎？高如諸天，你能做甚麼？比陰間深，你能知道甚麼？其量度比地長，比海更寬。

披上亮光，如披外袍，鋪張穹蒼，如鋪幔子，在水中立樓閣的棟梁，用雲彩為車輦，藉着風的翅膀而行，

要為風定輕重，又度量諸水，
