The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion; he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.

The Lord will wash away the sin of the women in Zion. He will clean up the blood that was spilled there. He will judge those who spilled that blood. His burning anger will blaze out at them.

Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath upon you.

And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:of sin, because they believe not on me;of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye behold me no more;of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.

And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee.

And I will cleanse their blood, that I have not cleansed: for Jehovah dwelleth in Zion.

Moreover Jehovah said, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet;therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and Jehovah will lay bare their secret parts.In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, and the cauls, and the crescents;the pendants, and the bracelets, and the mufflers;the headtires, and the ankle chains, and the sashes, and the perfume- boxes, and the amulets;the rings, and the nose- jewels;the festival robes, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the satchels;the hand- mirrors, and the fine linen, and the turbans, and the veils.And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet spices there shall be rottenness; and instead of a girdle, a rope; and instead of well set hair, baldness; and instead of a robe, a girding of sackcloth; branding instead of beauty.Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate and sit upon the ground.

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

For all the armor of the armed man in the tumult, and the garments rolled in blood, shall be for burning, for fuel of fire.

And the strong shall be as tow, and his work as a spark; and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.

In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

And I will save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will multiply it, and lay no famine upon you.

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel.And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take the filthy garments from off him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with rich apparel.

I also will make the pile great.Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that it may be hot, and the brass thereof may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the rust of it may be consumed.She hath wearied herself with toil; yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her; her rust goeth not forth by fire.In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed thee and thou wast not cleansed, thou shalt not be cleansed from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my wrath toward thee to rest.I, Jehovah, have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.

I indeed baptize you in water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire:whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing- floor; and he will gather his wheat into the garner, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.

Woe to her that is rebellious and polluted! to the oppressing city!

Her filthiness was in her skirts; she remembered not her latter end; Therefore is she come down wonderfully; she hath no comforter: Behold, O Jehovah, my affliction; for the enemy hath magnified himself.
