Indeed Sheol does not give you thanks; death does not praise you. Those who descend into the pit do not anticipate your faithfulness.

原来，阴间不能称谢你，死亡不能颂扬你；下坑的人不能盼望你的诚实。

陰府不能頌美爾、死亡不能讚揚爾、入坑坎者、不得望爾之誠實、

陰府死亡之輩、不能彰爾榮譽、臨墓入土之人、不得望爾踐言、

示阿勒示阿勒見五章十四節小註不能頌美主、死亡不能讚揚主、下墓者不復仰望主之誠實、

For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your truth.

For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

For Sheol cannot thank You; Death cannot praise You. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

For the grave cannot praise thee, death can[ not] celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

For Sheol can’t praise you. Death can’t celebrate you. Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might, because there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place where you will eventually go.

For no one remembers you in the realm of death, In Sheol who gives you thanks?

“ What profit is there in taking my life, in my descending into the Pit? Can the dust of the grave praise you? Can it declare your loyalty?

They and all that they had went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed over them. So they perished from among the community.

The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, but the righteous have refuge even in the threat of death.

And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us, so that those who want to cross over from here to you cannot do so, and no one can cross from there to us.’So the rich man said,‘ Then I beg you, father– send Lazarus to my father’s house( for I have five brothers) to warn them so that they don’t come into this place of torment.’But Abraham said,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to them.’Then the rich man said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’He replied to him,‘ If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any of those who descend into the silence of death.But we will praise the LORD now and forevermore. Praise the LORD!
