For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

People in the grave can’t praise you. Dead people can’t sing praise to you. Those who go down to the grave can’t hope for you to be faithful to them.

For Sheol does not thank you; death does not praise you; those who go down to the pit do not hope for your faithfulness.

For the dead cannot praise you; they cannot raise their voices in praise. Those who go down to the grave can no longer hope in your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank you; Death cannot praise you. Those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.

For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

凡是你手當做的，你都當極力去做；因為在你必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有籌劃，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

因為在死地沒有人記念你，在陰間有誰會稱謝你呢？

「我死亡下到陰坑，有什麼好處呢？難道塵土會稱謝你，宣告你的信實嗎？

惡人因自己的惡行被推倒，義人在臨死時有投靠。

「結果這些人將離去，進入永遠的刑罰。然而，義人將進入永恆的生命。」

這一切之外，在我們和你們之間，隔著巨大的深淵，所以人想要從這邊過到你們那邊是不可能的，從那邊過到我們這邊也是不可能的。』「財主就說：『我父啊，那麼求你打發拉撒路到我父親家去，因為我有五個兄弟，讓他去鄭重地勸誡他們，免得他們也來到這痛苦的地方。』「但是亞伯拉罕說：『你的兄弟們有摩西和先知們，讓你的兄弟們聽從他們吧。』「財主卻說：『不，我父亞伯拉罕哪！其實如果有人從死人中復活，到他們那裡去，他們就會悔改。』「可是亞伯拉罕對他說：『如果他們不聽從摩西和先知們，就算有人從死人中復活，他們也不會被說服的。』

但那些『天國的兒女』，卻將被丟在外面的黑暗裡。在那裡將有哀哭和切齒。」

死人不能讚美耶和華，所有下到寂靜之地的都不能。至於我們，我們要頌讚耶和華，從今直到永遠。哈利路亞！

難道你要為死人行奇妙的事嗎？難道陰魂會起來稱謝你嗎？細拉難道有人會在墳墓裡述說你的慈愛，在地獄裡述說你的信實嗎？
