耶和華必使亞述王臨到你和你的百姓，並你的父家，自從以法蓮脫離猶大的時候，未曾有過這樣的日子。

看哪，他們的英雄在外面哀號，求和的使臣在痛哭。大路荒涼，行人止息；盟約撕毀，見證被棄，人也不受尊重。

亞述王來到亞葉，經過米磯崙，在密抹安放輜重。他們過了隘口，要在迦巴住宿。拉瑪戰兢，掃羅的基比亞逃命。迦琳哪，要高聲呼喊！注意聽，萊煞啊！困苦的亞拿突啊！瑪得米那躲避，基柄的居民逃遁。當那日，亞述王要在挪伯停留，揮手攻擊錫安的山，就是耶路撒冷的山。

你們的土地荒蕪，城鎮被火燒燬；你們的田地在你們眼前被陌生人侵吞，既被陌生人傾覆，就成為荒蕪。僅存的錫安，好似葡萄園的草棚，如瓜田中的茅屋，又如被圍困的城。
