“ Assyria will fall by no human sword; a sword, not of mortals, will devour them. They will flee before the sword and their young men will be put to forced labor.

The Lord says,“ The Assyrians will be killed by swords. But the swords that kill them will not be used by human beings. The Assyrians will run away from those swords. But their young men will be caught and forced to work hard.

“ And the Assyrian shall fall by a sword, not of man; and a sword, not of man, shall devour him; and he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be put to forced labor.

“ The Assyrians will be destroyed, but not by the swords of men. The sword of God will strike them, and they will panic and flee. The strong young Assyrians will be taken away as captives.

Then Assyria will fall, but not by human sword; a sword will devour him, but not one made by man. He will flee from the sword; his young men will be put to forced labor.

And the Assyrian will fall by a sword not wielded by a man, And a sword not of man will devour him. So he will not escape the sword, And his young men will become forced laborers.

破亞述於我國、蹂躪之於我山、除民之軛、脫負於肩、

視安靜為可嘉、見土壤之甚美、鞠躬而負荷、作苦以服役、

蓋我為己、及我僕大衛故、必扞衛此城、以拯救之、○維時、耶和華之使者出、在亞述營、擊其人十八萬五千、晨起視之、乃屍而已、亞述王西拿基立遂去而返、居於尼尼微、崇拜其神於尼斯洛廟時、其子亞得米勒與沙利色、以刃弒之、遁於亞拉臘地、其子以撒哈頓嗣位、

爾敵之眾、將如纖塵、強暴之多、將如飛糠、其事成於俄頃、

緣此、萬軍之主耶和華、將使肥者為瘠、其貨財之下、如爇火而焚、以色列之光為火、其聖者為焰、一日之間、燬其荊棘蒺藜、爇其茂林腴田之榮華、身心俱滅、勢如病者日漸衰頹、其林遺木無幾、童穉可記錄之、○

耶和華遣使於亞述王營、滅其勇土、軍長將帥、亞述王蒙羞、返其故土、入其神廟、為其親生之子所弒、

蓋我為己、及我僕大衛故、必扞衛此城、以拯救之、○是夜耶和華之使者出、在亞述營、擊其人十八萬五千、晨起視之、乃屍而已、亞述王西拿基立遂去而返、居於尼尼微、崇拜其神於尼斯洛廟時、亞得米勒與沙利色以刃弒之、遁於亞拉臘地、其子以撒哈頓嗣位、

耶和華之名自遠方而來、烈怒炎炎、濃煙上騰、口盈忿氣、舌如烈火、其氣如河漲溢、高及於項、以盪滅之篩篩萬國、導諸民於迷途、若以勒拑其口、爾將謳歌、如守聖節之夕、中心歡樂、如人吹笛而赴耶和華之山、詣以色列之磐、耶和華必令人聞其威聲、且見其臂力、及忿怒、烈火、暴雨、巨風、冰雹、亞述因聞耶和華之聲而恐惶、彼必以其杖擊之、耶和華每以所定之杖擊之、人則擊鼓彈琴、彼必揮拳、戰而攻之、蓋陀斐特設自古昔、為王而備、深之廣之、積多薪、蓄以火、耶和華之氣、若硫磺之流而燃之、

主於錫安山、及耶路撒冷、既畢乃事、必討亞述王心驕之行為、目高之狂傲、

萬軍之主耶和華、必以威烈伐其枝、雄幹見斫、高者降卑、以鐵斬其叢林、利巴嫩為力士所毀、

惟矜憫猶大家、使賴其上帝耶和華得救、不賴弓刃戰鬥、馬與騎兵、

我將以靈置於其衷、俾其聞風、而歸故土、在彼使仆於刃、○
