爾惟法老之勢力是恃、埃及之庇蔭是賴、則必含羞蒙恥、

爾恃法老之勢力、終必抱愧、望於伊及得蔭庇、定蒙羞辱、

But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace.

But looking to Pharaoh will only bring them shame. Asking Egypt for help will bring them dishonor.

Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation.

But by trusting Pharaoh, you will be humiliated, and by depending on him, you will be disgraced.

But Pharaoh’s protection will become your shame, and refuge in Egypt’s shadow your humiliation.

Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame, And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.

Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt[ your] confusion.

But Pharaoh’s protection will bring you nothing but shame, and the safety of Egypt’s protective shade nothing but humiliation.

Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Those who made Cush their hope and Egypt their boast will be dismayed and ashamed.

This is what the Lord says: The man who trusts in mankind, who makes human flesh his strength and turns his heart from the Lord is cursed.He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives.

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Now the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on Him will not be put to shame,

They will capture it and burn it down.This is what the Lord says: Don’t deceive yourselves by saying,‘ The Chaldeans will leave us for good,’ for they will not leave.Indeed, if you were to strike down the entire Chaldean army that is fighting with you, and there remained among them only the badly wounded men, each in his tent, they would get up and burn this city down.”

All of them are put to shame, even humiliated; the makers of idols go in humiliation together.Israel will be saved by the Lord with an everlasting salvation; you will not be put to shame or humiliated for all eternity.

Look, you are trusting in Egypt, that splintered reed of a staff that will enter and pierce the hand of anyone who leans on it. This is how Pharaoh king of Egypt is to all who trust in him.
