People will oppress each other— man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored.

People will treat one another badly. They will fight against one another. They will fight against their neighbors. Young people will attack old people. Ordinary people will attack those who are more important.

And the people will oppress one another, every one his fellow and every one his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the despised to the honorable.

當時他們就往他臉上吐唾沫，用拳頭打他，也有人用手掌打他，

接著，有些人開始向他吐唾沫，蒙住他的臉，用拳頭打他，對他說：「你說預言吧！」差役們也用手掌打他。

「萬軍之耶和華如此說：『你們要施行真理的審判，各人要以恩慈和憐憫對待自己的兄弟。不要欺壓寡婦、孤兒、寄居者和困苦人，各人不要在心裡向自己的兄弟謀劃惡事。』然而，他們不肯留心聽，竟扭轉頑梗的肩頭，充耳不聞；

我看到在日光之下有一種禍患，好像是出自掌權者無意的過錯：愚笨人被安置在眾多的高位，富有的人卻坐在低位。我見過奴僕騎在馬上，而首領卻在地上行走如同奴僕。

看哪！工人收割你們的田地，你們所剋扣他們的工錢正在呼叫，收割者的冤聲也已經達到萬軍之主的耳中了。

萬軍之耶和華說：「我必臨近你們施行審判；我要快快作證控告那些行巫術的、通姦的、起假誓的、在工酬上欺壓雇工的、欺壓孤兒寡婦的、屈枉寄居者的，以及不敬畏我的！

但你們卻侮辱了這貧窮人！那欺壓你們、把你們拉上法庭的，難道不是那些富有的人嗎？

因著萬軍之耶和華的盛怒，地被焚毀，百姓必像燒火的燃料，沒有人憐恤自己的兄弟。他們在右邊割肉，還是飢餓；在左邊吞噬，仍不飽足；各人竟吞噬自己膀臂的肉。瑪拿西吞噬以法蓮，以法蓮吞噬瑪拿西，他們又一同敵對猶大。即使如此，耶和華的怒氣還不轉消，他的手仍然伸出。

他們剝下耶穌的衣服，給他套上一件深紅色的袍子，用荊棘編了冠冕，戴在他的頭上，又把一根蘆葦放在他的右手裡，然後跪在他面前，戲弄他說：「萬歲，猶太人的王！」接著向他吐唾沫，拿蘆葦打他的頭。

以法蓮的嫉妒必消失，猶大的敵視必被剪除；以法蓮必不再嫉妒猶大，猶大也不再敵視以法蓮。

禍哉！有罪的國，罪孽深重的民，作惡者的後裔，敗壞的兒女！他們離棄耶和華，藐視以色列的聖者，轉背遠離他。

又蒙住他的眼睛問他，說：「你說預言吧！打你的是誰？」

大衛王來到巴戶琳，看哪，從那裡出來一個掃羅家族的人，名叫示每，是基拉的兒子。他一邊出來，一邊咒罵，又向大衛王和王的所有臣僕扔石頭；那時所有軍兵和勇士都在王的左右。示每這樣咒罵說：「滾出去，滾出去！你這殺人流血的人，你這卑劣的人！你流了掃羅家的血，接替他作王，耶和華現在把這血債全報應在你身上了，耶和華已經把王權交在你兒子押沙龍手中了。看哪，你自取其禍，因為你是個殺人流血的人。」洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩對王說：「為什麼讓這條死狗咒罵我主我王呢？請讓我過去，把他的頭砍下來！」
