Brought low, you will speak from the ground; your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will come ghostlike from the earth; out of the dust your speech will whisper.

You will be brought down to the grave. You will speak from deep down inside the ground. Your words will be barely heard out of the dust. Your voice will sound like the voice of a ghost coming from under the ground. Your words will sound like a whisper out of the dust.”

And you will be brought low; from the earth you shall speak, and from the dust your speech will be bowed down; your voice shall come from the ground like the voice of a ghost, and from the dust your speech shall whisper.

Then deep from the earth you will speak; from low in the dust your words will come. Your voice will whisper from the ground like a ghost conjured up from the grave.

或曰、維彼巫覡、及為神所憑者、何不問焉、其聲綿蠻、其音微細。則應之曰、人豈不當問於上帝哉、生人之事、詢於死者、亦奚以為。

蓋耶路撒冷猶大之民、所信所行、背乎耶和華、犯天顏、干震怒、顛蹶而亡、

我躬拳曲、不勝匍匐兮、

人即自高、昂首仰視、必使之屈抑而卑微、蓋是日也、耶和華尊無二上。時日將至、萬有之主耶和華、必折驕矜者之氣、使自高者降而為卑。凡利巴嫩干霄之柏香木、巴山之橡樹。巖巖之眾山、巍巍之峻嶺。崇高之臺榭、鞏固之城垣、大失之舟楫、可愛之嘉物、俱使之傾覆。驕傲者流、必使為卑、蓋是日也、耶和華尊無二上。凡諸偶像、盡歸消亡。耶和華有威可畏、勃然而興、地以震動、人必入於磐巖、匿於窟穴、以避其災。是日也、人以所作之金銀偶像、居恆所崇拜者、投於鼹鼠蝙蝠之穴。耶和華有威可畏、勃然而興、地以震動、人必入於磐巖、匿於窟穴、以避其災。

惟爾敵人、素使爾曲躬俯伏、俟其踰越而行、若遨遊於通衢、我必使彼飲焉。

其衣污衊、不念厥終、故遭非常之傾圮、而慰藉無人兮、彼曰、敵加困苦、望耶和華眷顧兮。
