That fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley, will be like figs ripe before harvest— as soon as people see them and take them in hand, they swallow them.

It sits on a hill above a rich valley. The city is like a wreath of flowers whose glorious beauty is fading away. But it will become like figs that are ripe before harvest. As soon as people see them, they pick them and swallow them.

爾諸城垣、城垣或作鞏固之城若初熟之無花果在樹上、人一搖撼、則墮於食者之口、

以法蓮人沈湎於酒、其邑建於膏腴平原之岡、狀如華冠、華美莊嚴、遂以自誇、不知實似將殘之花、禍哉禍哉、或作以法蓮建都於高岡在膏腴之谷中狀若華冠其人沈湎於酒心高志傲不知其榮如將殘之花禍哉禍哉

昔以法蓮出言、人皆戰慄、彼於以色列中得居高位、自崇事巴力獲罪、遂致滅亡、遂致滅亡原文作則死矣

彼在兄弟之中、雖為昌熾、將有東風、即主之風、來自曠野、將有東風即主之風來自曠野或作必有東風至主必使風自曠野而來使其泉竭源涸、敵必劫掠所積蓄之一切寶器、

主曰、昔我得以色列族、如葡萄在曠野、視爾列祖、如在無花果樹初熟之果、然彼就巴力毘珥、專心崇拜可恥之物、遂為可憎、與所崇之物無異、以法蓮之榮光、若鳥飛去、生子即喪、懷胎遂墜、並無有孕、生子即喪懷胎遂墜並無有孕原文作不產不胎不孕

以法蓮受責、其根已槁、不復結果、即其產子、所生之愛子、我必誅殺、

富者謙卑當樂、或作富者可因謙卑而誇因其如草花必雕、日出曝之、草枯花謝、其色之美亡矣、富者於其所為必衰殘、亦若是、○

主曰、以法蓮乎、我將如何待爾、猶大乎、我將如何待爾、爾之善良、善良或作虔敬猶若朝雲、亦若晨露、立時消散、

頃刻毀滅、驚駭消亡、歸於無有、主興起、輕視其浮華、如人睡醒、藐視幻夢、

天星隕地、如無花果樹、為大風飄撼、落其未熟之果、
