耶稣说：“西门！西门！撒旦已经要求像筛麦子一样筛你们，但我已经为你祷告了，叫你不至于失去信心。你回头以后，要让你的弟兄刚强。”

耶稣说：“那撒下好种子的就是人子，麦田代表整个世界，那些好种子就是天国的子民。毒麦就是那些属于魔鬼的人，撒毒麦的仇敌就是魔鬼。收割的日子便是世界的末日，收割的工人就是天使。“毒麦怎样被拔出来丢在火里烧，同样，在世界末日的时候，人子也将派天使把一切引人犯罪和作孽的人从祂国里挑出来，丢进火里。那时，他们将在那里哀哭切齿。那时，义人要在他们天父的国度像太阳一样发出光辉。有耳朵的，都应当听。

“因为我要下令在列国中筛以色列家，就像人筛谷物，一粒石子也不会落在地上。

摩西的律法书上说：“牛在踩谷时，不可笼住它的嘴。”难道上帝关心的只是牛吗？祂这样说难道不是为了我们吗？这话的确是为我们写的，因为耕耘的和打谷的农夫都应该存着分享收成的盼望劳作。

我实实在在地告诉你们，一粒麦子如果不落在地里死了，仍是一粒，如果死了，就会结出许多麦粒来。

祂手拿簸箕，要把谷场清理干净，将麦子存入仓里，用不灭的火把糠秕烧尽。”

因为我们是上帝的同工，你们是上帝的园地和建筑。

于是，我说：“我的百姓啊！你们像场上被碾、被筛的谷物，现在我把从以色列的上帝——万军之耶和华那里听见的都告诉你们了。”
