You have made the nation larger, O LORD, you have made the nation larger and revealed your splendor, you have extended all the borders of the land.

You have enlarged the nation, Lord; you have enlarged the nation. You have gained glory for yourself; you have extended all the borders of the land.

Lord, you have made our nation grow. You have made it larger. You have gained glory for yourself. You have increased the size of our land.

But you have increased the nation, O Lord, you have increased the nation; you are glorified; you have enlarged all the borders of the land.

O Lord, you have made our nation great; yes, you have made us great. You have extended our borders, and we give you the glory!

You have added to the nation, LORD. You have added to the nation; you are honored. You have expanded all the borders of the land.

You have enlarged the nation; you give them great joy. They rejoice in your presence as harvesters rejoice; as warriors celebrate when they divide up the plunder.

All of your people will be godly; they will possess the land permanently. I will plant them like a shoot; they will be the product of my labor, through whom I reveal my splendor.

Finally the LORD rejected Israel just as he had warned he would do through all his servants the prophets. Israel was deported from its land to Assyria and remains there to this very day.

Make your tent larger, stretch your tent curtains farther out! Spare no effort, lengthen your ropes, and pound your stakes deep.For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your children will conquer nations and will resettle desolate cities.

Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.

The LORD announced,“ I will also spurn Judah, just as I spurned Israel. I will reject this city that I chose– both Jerusalem and the temple, about which I said,“ I will live there.”

Who can count the dust of Jacob, Or number the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the upright, and let the end of my life be like theirs.”

“ The LORD will allow you to be struck down before your enemies; you will attack them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions and will become an object of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

For though your people, Israel, are as numerous as the sand on the seashore, only a remnant will come back. Destruction has been decreed; just punishment is about to engulf you.

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying:“ The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.”Then the twenty- four elders who are seated on their thrones before God threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and worshiped Godwith these words:“ We give you thanks, Lord God, the All- Powerful, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and begun to reign.The nations were enraged, but your wrath has come, and the time has come for the dead to be judged, and the time has come to give to your servants, the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints and to those who revere your name, both small and great, and the time has come to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

All the nations, whom you created, will come and worship you, O Lord. They will honor your name.For you are great and do amazing things. You alone are God.

You multiplied their descendants like the stars of the sky. You brought them to the land you had told their ancestors to enter in order to possess.

My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are my disciples.

Jesus replied,“ The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain.The one who loves his life destroys it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards it for eternal life.If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.“ Now my soul is greatly distressed. And what should I say?‘ Father, deliver me from this hour’? No, but for this very reason I have come to this hour.Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven,“ I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

A third of your people will die of plague or be overcome by the famine within you. A third of your people will fall by the sword surrounding you, and a third I will scatter to the winds. I will unleash a sword behind them.

The LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of wood and stone.

Shout for joy, O sky, for the LORD intervenes; shout out, you subterranean regions of the earth. O mountains, give a joyful shout; you too, O forest and all your trees! For the LORD protects Jacob; he reveals his splendor through Israel.

When your ancestors went down to Egypt, they numbered only seventy, but now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky.

“ I said,‘ I want to cut them in pieces. I want to make people forget they ever existed.But I fear the reaction of their enemies, for their adversaries would misunderstand and say,“ Our power is great, and the LORD has not done all this!”’

When Judas had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away.

In the ninth year of Hoshea’s reign, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the people of Israel to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor( the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.

‘ I will certainly regather my people from all the countries where I will have exiled them in my anger, fury, and great wrath. I will bring them back to this place and allow them to live here in safety.

“ The time will come when your people will sin against you( for there is no one who is sinless!) and you will be angry with them and deliver them over to their enemies, who will take them as prisoners to their own land, whether far away or close by.

“‘ I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries; then I will bring you to your land.

When Jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said,“ Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that your Son may glorify you–

Out of those places you will hear songs of thanksgiving and the sounds of laughter and merriment. I will increase their number and they will not dwindle away. I will bring them honor and they will no longer be despised.

You will see a king in his splendor; you will see a wide land.

and the LORD has sent the people off to a distant place, and the very heart of the land is completely abandoned.

Then the LORD will scatter you among the peoples and there will be very few of you among the nations where the LORD will drive you.There you will worship gods made by human hands– wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

And I will make your descendants like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone is able to count the dust of the earth, then your descendants also can be counted.

They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
