Though the wicked person is shown compassion, He does not learn righteousness; He deals unjustly in the land of uprightness, And does not perceive the majesty of the Lord.

But when grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness; even in a land of uprightness they go on doing evil and do not regard the majesty of the Lord.

Sometimes grace is shown to sinful people. But they still don’t learn to do what is right. They keep on doing evil even in a land where others are honest and fair. They don’t have any respect for the majesty of the Lord.

If favor is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals corruptly and does not see the majesty of the Lord.

Your kindness to the wicked does not make them do good. Although others do right, the wicked keep doing wrong and take no notice of the Lord’s majesty.

But if the wicked man is shown favor, he does not learn righteousness. In a righteous land he acts unjustly and does not see the majesty of the LORD.

Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the Lord.

Let favor be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness will he deal wrongfully, and will not behold the majesty of Jehovah.

But if the wicked man is shown favor, he does not learn righteousness. In a righteous land he acts unjustly and does not see the majesty of the Lord.

If the wicked are shown mercy, they do not learn about justice. Even in a land where right is rewarded, they act unjustly; they do not see the LORD’s majesty revealed.

Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see Yahweh’s majesty.

And the Father who sent Me, He has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.Also you do not have His word remaining in you, because you do not believe Him whom He sent.

So My people are determined to turn from Me. Though they call them to the One on high, None at all exalts Him.

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and restraint and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her sexual immorality.

Furthermore, I have seen under the sun that in the place of justice there is wickedness and in the place of righteousness there is wickedness.

I brought you into the fruitful land To eat its fruit and its good things. But you came and defiled My land, And you made My inheritance an abomination.

But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and did not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

For the faithlessness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them.

“ But Jeshurun became fat and kicked— You have become fat, thick, and obstinate— Then he abandoned God who made him, And rejected the Rock of his salvation.

Arise and go, For this is no place of rest Because of the uncleanness that brings on destruction, A painful destruction.

The Lord did as Moses asked, and removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; not one remained.But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people go.

But when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunder had stopped, he sinned again and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

Give back to them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices; Give back to them according to the work of their hands; Repay them what is due them.Because they do not regard the works of the Lord Nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.

Who build Zion with bloodshed, And Jerusalem with malice.Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the Lord, saying,“ Is the Lord not in our midst? Catastrophe will not come upon us.”Therefore on account of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, And the mountain of the temple will become high places of a forest.

They will not remain in the Lord’s land, But Ephraim will return to Egypt, And in Assyria they will eat unclean food.

Many times He would rescue them; They, however, were rebellious in their plan, And they sank down into their guilt.

This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Once again they will speak this word in the land of Judah and in its cities when I restore their fortunes,‘ The Lord bless you, O place of righteousness, O holy hill!’

Therefore on that day the Lord God of armies called you to weeping, to wailing, To shaving the head, and to wearing sackcloth.Instead, there is joy and jubilation, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine:“ Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

As they had their pasture, they became satisfied, And as they became satisfied, their heart became proud; Therefore they forgot Me.

In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.But they rebelled And grieved His Holy Spirit; Therefore He turned Himself to become their enemy, He fought against them.

It will come about also on that day that a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were perishing in the land of Assyria and who were scattered in the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

“ And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Then inform her of all her abominations.And you shall say,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ A city shedding blood in her midst, so that her time is coming; and a city that makes idols, contrary to her own good, for defilement!You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and you have become defiled by your idols which you have made. So you have brought your days closer and have come to your years; therefore I have made you a disgrace to the nations, and an object of mocking to all the lands.Those who are near and those who are far from you will make fun of you, you of ill repute, full of turmoil.“ Behold, the rulers of Israel, each according to his power, have been among you for the purpose of shedding blood.They have treated father and mother with contempt among you. They have oppressed the stranger in your midst; they have oppressed the orphan and the widow among you.You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.Slanderous men have been among you for the purpose of shedding blood, and among you they have eaten at the mountain shrines. In your midst they have committed outrageous sin.Among you they have uncovered their fathers’ nakedness; among you they have abused her who was unclean in her menstruation.And one has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, another has outrageously defiled his daughter in law, and another among you has sexually abused his sister, his father’s daughter.Among you they have taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest, you have injured your neighbors by oppression, and you have forgotten Me,” declares the Lord God.“ Behold, then, I strike with My hand your profit which you have made and the bloodshed which is among you.Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong for the days that I will deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken and will act.And I will scatter you among the nations and disperse you among the lands, and I will eliminate your uncleanness from you.Then you will defile yourself in the sight of the nations, and you will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

So Samuel said,“ Is it not true, though you were insignificant in your own eyes, that you became the head of the tribes of Israel? For the Lord anointed you as king over Israel.

Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Enter the rocky place and hide in the dust From the terror of the Lord and from the splendor of His majesty.

Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; But they do not pay attention to the deeds of the Lord, Nor do they consider the work of His hands.

The earth is also defiled by its inhabitants, for they violated laws, altered statutes, and broke the everlasting covenant.

So He brought them to His holy land, To this hill country which His right hand had gained.He also drove out the nations from them And apportioned them as an inheritance by measurement, And had the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God And did not keep His testimonies,But turned back and acted treacherously like their fathers; They turned aside like a treacherous bow.For they provoked Him with their high places And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images.

For a fool speaks nonsense, And his heart inclines toward wickedness: To practice ungodliness and to speak error against the Lord, To keep the hungry person unsatisfied And to withhold drink from the thirsty.

Then the devil* took Him along into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,
