事情必如此成就在大地之間、萬民之中，就像橄欖樹被搖打，又像葡萄收穫期結束後遺落的殘粒。

地上諸民、將若橄欖之被撼、如摘葡萄之所遺、

斯土之民、既遭斯難、尚有孑遺、若收橄欖果、拾葡萄實、猶留數顆、

斯國於列國中、景象如油果已收、葡萄已摘、留存無幾、

So will it be on the earth and among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, or as when gleanings are left after the grape harvest.

That’s how it will be on the earth. And that’s how it will be among the nations. It will be as when workers knock all but a few olives off the trees. It will be like a vine that has only a few grapes left after the harvest.

For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done.

Throughout the earth the story is the same— only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

For so it will be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, As the shaking of an olive tree, As the gleanings when the grape harvest is over.

When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done.

For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive- tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

For this is how it will be on earth among the nations: like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people,[ there shall be] as the shaking of an olive tree,[ and] as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

This is what will happen throughout the earth, among the nations. It will be like when they beat an olive tree, and just a few olives are left at the end of the harvest.

For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah. (niv)

“ Therefore say:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.’“ Therefore say:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.’“ They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols.I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. (niv)

Yet there will be some survivors— sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem— every disaster I have brought on it.You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (niv)

God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah— how he appealed to God against Israel:“ Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”?And what was God’s answer to him?“ I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. (niv)

The fugitives who escape will flee to the mountains. Like doves of the valleys, they will all moan, each for their own sins. (niv)

But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” (niv)

Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. (niv)

Those who escape the sword and return to the land of Judah from Egypt will be very few. Then the whole remnant of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will stand— mine or theirs. (niv)

In that day the remnant of Israel, the survivors of Jacob, will no longer rely on him who struck them down but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God.Though your people be like the sand by the sea, Israel, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overwhelming and righteous. (niv)

It will be as when reapers harvest the standing grain, gathering the grain in their arms— as when someone gleans heads of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.Yet some gleanings will remain, as when an olive tree is beaten, leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches, four or five on the fruitful boughs,” declares the Lord, the God of Israel. and said to him,“ Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.”As I listened, he said to the others,“ Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion.Slaughter the old men, the young men and women, the mothers and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the old men who were in front of the temple. (niv)

“‘ But I will spare some, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among the lands and nations.Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember me— how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices.And they will know that I am the Lord; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Strike your hands together and stamp your feet and cry out“ Alas!” because of all the wicked and detestable practices of the people of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine and plague. “ I will surely gather all of you, Jacob; I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in its pasture; the place will throng with people. (niv)

And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.” (niv)

“ If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. (niv)
