勿恃世人、彼之生氣、僅在鼻中、何足算哉、

斯人也、呼吸之氣、出入於口、安能助人、勿以為可恃。

毋恃世人、世人僅有鼻中出入之生氣、出入之生氣或作呼吸之氣何足算哉、

Stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. They only live for a little while. What good are they?

Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?

Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

Put no more trust in a mere human, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?

Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?

Put no more trust in man, who has only the breath in his nostrils. What is he really worth?

Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?

This is what the Lord says:“ Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.

Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.

Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

as long as I have life within me, the breath of God in my nostrils,

Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

so that I prefer strangling and death, rather than this body of mine.I despise my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone; my days have no meaning.“ What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention,that you examine them every morning and test them every moment?Will you never look away from me, or let me alone even for an instant?If I have sinned, what have I done to you, you who see everything we do? Why have you made me your target? Have I become a burden to you?Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more.”

Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.

Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.

Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
