勿恃世人、彼之生氣、僅在鼻中、何足算哉、

斯人也、呼吸之氣、出入於口、安能助人、勿以為可恃。

毋恃世人、世人僅有鼻中出入之生氣、出入之生氣或作呼吸之氣何足算哉、

Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?

Stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. They only live for a little while. What good are they?

Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?

Don’t put your trust in mere humans. They are as frail as breath. What good are they?

Take no account of man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?

Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for wherein is he to be accounted of?

This is what the LORD says: Cursed is the person who trusts in mankind. He makes human flesh his strength, and his heart turns from the LORD.

Do not trust in nobles, in a son of man, who cannot save.

LORD, what is a human that you care for him, a son of man that you think of him?A human is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.

Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring— what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes.

what is a human being that you remember him, a son of man that you look after him?

as long as my breath is still in me and the breath from God remains in my nostrils,

Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

so that I prefer strangling— death rather than life in this body.I give up! I will not live forever. Leave me alone, for my days are a breath.What is a mere human, that you think so highly of him and pay so much attention to him?You inspect him every morning, and put him to the test every moment.Will you ever look away from me, or leave me alone long enough to swallow?If I have sinned, what have I done to you, Watcher of humanity? Why have you made me your target, so that I have become a burden to you?Why not forgive my sin and pardon my iniquity? For soon I will lie down in the grave. You will eagerly seek me, but I will be gone.

Everything with the breath of the spirit of life in its nostrils— everything on dry land died.

Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are considered as a speck of dust on the scales; he lifts up the islands like fine dust.

Common people are only a vapor; important people, an illusion. Together on a scale, they weigh less than a vapor.
