The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists.

The people of Egypt will lose hope. I will keep them from doing what they plan to do. They will ask their gods for advice. They will turn to the spirits of dead people for help. They will go to people who get messages from those who have died. They will ask for advice from people who talk to the spirits of the dead.

and the spirit of the Egyptians within them will be emptied out, and I will confound their counsel; and they will inquire of the idols and the sorcerers, and the mediums and the necromancers;

The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will confuse their plans. They will plead with their idols for wisdom and call on spirits, mediums, and those who consult the spirits of the dead.

Egypt’s spirit will be disturbed within it, and I will frustrate its plans. Then they will inquire of worthless idols, ghosts, mediums, and spiritists.

Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confuse their strategy, So that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead, And to mediums and spiritists.

The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers.

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek unto the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

Egypt’s spirit will be disturbed within it, and I will frustrate its plans. Then they will seek idols, ghosts, spirits of the dead, and spiritists.

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

The Egyptians will panic, and I will confuse their strategy. They will seek guidance from the idols and from the spirits of the dead, from the pits used to conjure up underworld spirits, and from the magicians.

The spirit of Egypt will fail within it. I will destroy its counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.

有人對你們說：「當求問那些交鬼的和行巫術的，就是聲音綿蠻，言語微細的。」你們便回答說：「百姓不當求問自己的神嗎？豈可為活人求問死人呢？」 (cunpt)

到了我懲罰你的日子，你的心還能忍受嗎？你的手還能有力嗎？我－耶和華說了這話，就必照着行。 (cunpt)

破壞狡猾人的計謀，使他們所謀的不得成就。他叫有智慧的中了自己的詭計，使狡詐人的計謀速速滅亡。 (cunpt)

站起來吧！用你從幼年勞神施行的符咒和你許多的邪術；或者可得益處，或者可得強勝。 (cunpt)

所以我降旨召巴比倫的一切哲士到我面前，叫他們把夢的講解告訴我。於是那些術士、用法術的、迦勒底人、觀兆的都進來，我將那夢告訴了他們，他們卻不能把夢的講解告訴我。 (cunpt)

有人告訴大衛說：「亞希多弗也在叛黨之中，隨從押沙龍。」大衛禱告說：「耶和華啊，求你使亞希多弗的計謀變為愚拙！」 (cunpt)

萬軍之耶和華既然定意，誰能廢棄呢？他的手已經伸出，誰能轉回呢？ (cunpt)

我必不永遠相爭，也不長久發怒，恐怕我所造的人與靈性都必發昏。 (cunpt)

大聲吩咐將用法術的和迦勒底人並觀兆的領進來，對巴比倫的哲士說，誰能讀這文字，把講解告訴我，他必身穿紫袍，項帶金鍊，在我國中位列第三。 (cunpt)

使說假話的兆頭失效，使占卜的癲狂，使智慧人退後，使他的知識變為愚拙； (cunpt)

他們上巴益，又往底本，到高處去哭泣。摩押人因尼波和米底巴哀號，各人頭上光禿，鬍鬚剃淨。 (cunpt)

押沙龍和以色列眾人說：「亞基人戶篩的計謀比亞希多弗的計謀更好！」這是因耶和華定意破壞亞希多弗的良謀，為要降禍與押沙龍。 (cunpt)

瑣安的首領極其愚昧；法老大有智慧的謀士，所籌劃的成為愚謀。你們怎敢對法老說：我是智慧人的子孫，我是古王的後裔？你的智慧人在哪裏呢？萬軍之耶和華向埃及所定的旨意，他們可以知道，可以告訴你吧！瑣安的首領都變為愚昧；挪弗的首領都受了迷惑。當埃及支派房角石的，使埃及人走錯了路。 (cunpt)

他們問你說：『為何歎息呢？』你就說：『因為有風聲、災禍要來。人心都必消化，手都發軟，精神衰敗，膝弱如水。看哪，這災禍臨近，必然成就。這是主耶和華說的。』」 (cunpt)

沒有人能以智慧、聰明、謀略敵擋耶和華。 (cunpt)

到了早晨，拿八醒了酒，他的妻將這些事都告訴他，他就魂不附體，身僵如石頭一般。 (cunpt)

亞希多弗見不依從他的計謀，就備上驢，歸回本城；到了家，留下遺言，便吊死了，葬在他父親的墳墓裏。 (cunpt)

先知與王說話的時候，王對他說：「誰立你作王的謀士呢？你住口吧！為何找打呢？」先知就止住了，又說：「你行這事，不聽從我的勸戒，我知道神定意要滅你。」猶大王亞瑪謝與羣臣商議，就差遣使者去見耶戶的孫子、約哈斯的兒子、以色列王約阿施，說：「你來，我們二人相見於戰場。」以色列王約阿施差遣使者去見猶大王亞瑪謝，說：「黎巴嫩的蒺藜差遣使者去見黎巴嫩的香柏樹，說：『將你的女兒給我兒子為妻。』後來黎巴嫩有一個野獸經過，把蒺藜踐踏了。你說：『看哪，我打敗了以東人』，你就心高氣傲，以致矜誇。你在家裏安居就罷了，為何要惹禍使自己和猶大國一同敗亡呢？」亞瑪謝卻不肯聽從。這是出乎神，好將他們交在敵人手裏，因為他們尋求以東的神。 (cunpt)

因這世界的智慧，在神看是愚拙。如經上記着說：「主叫有智慧的，中了自己的詭計」；又說：「主知道智慧人的意念是虛妄的。」 (cunpt)
