尚有遺民、若收橄欖果時、高樹之巔、猶遺二三顆、繁枝之上、僅存四五枝、我以色列之上帝耶和華已言之矣。

遺民僅有數人、若收油果時、樹杪尚遺二三顆、茂枝之上僅剩四五枚、此乃主以色列之天主所言、

Yet some gleanings will remain, as when an olive tree is beaten, leaving two or three olives on the topmost branches, four or five on the fruitful boughs,” declares the Lord, the God of Israel.

“盗贼深夜洗劫你的家，不会洗劫一空；人们摘葡萄，不会摘光；但你会被彻底毁灭！

关于以色列人，以赛亚先知曾疾呼：“以色列人虽多如海沙，但得救的只是剩余的人，

上帝怎样回答呢？祂说：“我为自己留下七千人，他们未曾跪拜巴力。”现在的情况也是一样，上帝按照拣选的恩典留下了少数人。既然说是出于恩典，就不再基于行为，不然恩典就不再是恩典了。

基甸说：“我怎能比得上你们呢？以法莲人摘剩的葡萄岂不比我们亚比以谢族收获的葡萄更好吗？

以色列啊，你的人民虽多如海沙，将只有剩余的人归回。充满公义的毁灭之事已定。

若不是万军之耶和华让我们一些人存活，我们早就像所多玛和蛾摩拉一样灭亡了。

“‘以色列的山岭啊，你们要为我的以色列子民长出枝叶，结出果子，因为他们快要回来了。看啊，我要帮助你们，垂顾你们，使你们被耕种。我要增加居住在你们那里的以色列人，使城邑有人居住，废墟得以重建。我要使你们那里的人畜兴旺，多多繁衍，我要使人们居住在你们那里，好像以前一样，让你们比以前更兴盛。这样，你们就知道我是耶和华。我要引领我的以色列子民在你们那里出入，使你们成为他们的产业，不再夺走他们的儿女。’主耶和华说，‘虽然人们说你们吞吃以色列人、夺走他们的儿女。但你们今后必不再吞吃以色列人，不再夺走他们的儿女。这是主耶和华说的。我必不再使你们听见外族人的辱骂和嘲笑，也不再使你们的国民丧失子女。这是主耶和华说的。’”

到那日，耶和华必把以色列人从幼发拉底河到埃及小河一个一个地召集起来，像人打树拾果子一样。

你就告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘我要把约瑟和他的以色列同伴的杖，就是以法莲手中的杖，与犹大的杖在我手中连成一根。’你要拿着这两根写着字的杖让他们看，告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘我要把以色列的百姓从他们分散的各国招聚起来，领他们回归故土。我要使他们在以色列的土地和群山上成为一国，只有一位王统治他们，不再分为两个国家。他们不会再因祭拜偶像、行可憎之事而玷污自己，我要从他们犯罪的地方把他们救出来，洗净他们的罪。他们要做我的子民，我要做他们的上帝。“‘我的仆人大卫要做王治理他们，成为他们唯一的牧人。他们必恪守我的典章，谨遵我的律例。他们要安居在我赐给我仆人雅各的土地上，就是你们祖先居住的地方。他们世世代代都要居住在那里，我仆人大卫要永远做他们的王。

我不再掩面不顾以色列人，因为我要把我的灵浇灌在他们身上。这是主耶和华说的。’”

全以色列都要得救。正如圣经上说：“救主必从锡安出来，祂将除去雅各子孙的罪恶。

此外，我在以色列留下七千人，他们未曾跪拜巴力，也未曾亲吻巴力。”

我真悲惨！就像夏天的果子已被收尽，葡萄已被摘净，找不到一串可吃的，寻不见我心中渴望的初熟无花果。
