The people of Dibon go up to their temple to worship. They go to their high places to weep. The people of Moab cry over the cities of Nebo and Medeba. All their heads are shaved. All their beards have been cut off.

Your people will go to their temple in Dibon to mourn. They will go to their sacred shrines to weep. They will wail for the fate of Nebo and Medeba, shaving their heads in sorrow and cutting off their beards.

Concerning Moab. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ Woe to Nebo, for it is laid waste! Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; the fortress is put to shame and broken down;

“ Come down from your glory, and sit on the parched ground, O inhabitant of Dibon! For the destroyer of Moab has come up against you; he has destroyed your strongholds.

Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan,

Instead of perfume there will be rottenness; and instead of a belt, a rope; and instead of well-set hair, baldness; and instead of a rich robe, a skirt of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.

So we overthrew them; Heshbon, as far as Dibon, perished; and we laid waste as far as Nophah; fire spread as far as Medeba.”

“ For every head is shaved and every beard cut off. On all the hands are gashes, and around the waist is sackcloth.On all the housetops of Moab and in the squares there is nothing but lamentation, for I have broken Moab like a vessel for which no one cares, declares the Lord.How it is broken! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab has become a derision and a horror to all that are around him.”

“‘ Cut off your hair and cast it away; raise a lamentation on the bare heights, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.’

Therefore let Moab wail for Moab, let everyone wail. Mourn, utterly stricken, for the raisin cakes of Kir-hareseth.

In that day the Lord God of hosts called for weeping and mourning, for baldness and wearing sackcloth;

Nebo, and Baal-meon( their names were changed), and Sibmah. And they gave other names to the cities that they built.

So their territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland by Medeba;with Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the tableland; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,

Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped.

“ Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,

You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard.You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.

Wail, O gate; cry out, O city; melt in fear, O Philistia, all of you! For smoke comes out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.

They put on sackcloth, and horror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and baldness on all their heads.

Therefore I wail for Moab; I cry out for all Moab; for the men of Kir-hareseth I mourn.

in the streets they wear sackcloth; on the housetops and in the squares everyone wails and melts in tears.

“ You are the sons of the Lord your God. You shall not cut yourselves or make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead.

Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has perished. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourselves?
