“各人头上光秃，胡须剪短，手有划伤，腰束麻布。在摩押的各房顶上和街市上处处有人哀哭；因我打碎摩押，好像打碎无人喜悦的器皿。这是耶和华说的。摩押何等毁坏！何等哀号！何等羞愧转背！这样，摩押必令四围的人嗤笑惊骇。”

“耶路撒冷啊，要剪发抛弃，在净光的高处举哀；因为耶和华丢掉离弃了惹他忿怒的世代。”

因此，摩押人必为摩押哀号；人人都要哀号。你们摩押人要为吉珥哈列设的葡萄饼哀叹，极其忧伤。

当那日，主万军之耶和华叫人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。

他们在街市上都腰束麻布，在房顶上和宽阔处俱各哀号，眼泪汪汪。

“你们是耶和华你们神的儿女。不可为死人用刀划身，也不可将额上剃光；

迦萨成了光秃；平原中所剩的亚实基伦归于无有。你用刀划身，要到几时呢？
