其境為野獸所藏伏、其室為鴟鴞所棲止、雌鴕鳥居處於斯、魑魅踴躍於斯。暴獸嗥於深宮、野犬遊於華殿、其時將屆、其日伊邇。

故我必降災於耶羅破暗家、使在以色列族中、絶其所有、或主或僕、不遺一男、如其子孫尚有存者、棄之如糞壤、必務其盡、

鵜鶘毛蝟聚處焉、鷺鷥烏鴉棲止焉、我循準繩、以滅以東、在牧伯貴介中、欲簡一人為王、實難其選、荊棘叢生於宮闕、蒺藜萌長於城垣、蝮蛇鴕鳥、居處其中、暴獸野犬遇於途、魑魅魍魎嘷於野、妖狐山魈、據之為寧宇、有蛇疾行若箭、穴於其所、涵淹卵育、雌雄之鸇鳥、翔集於彼、

故暴獸野犬、雌雄鴕鳥、必巢其中、無人居處、歷代若此。耶和華曰、昔所多馬蛾摩拉、及其鄰邑、為我上帝所傾圮、無人居處、斯邑亦必若是。

有能天使舉大石如磨、投於海、曰、巴比倫大邑、當猝然傾圮、不復得見、有如此石、鼓琴作樂、品簫吹角之音、不復聞於爾間、百工不復居於爾間、磨聲不再聞於爾間、燈光不復照於爾間、新娶者、與新婦之語、不復聞於爾間、爾商旅乃世上大夫、萬國以爾巫術迷惑、

耶和華曰、爾巴比倫邑若山、天下黎庶、遭爾淪喪、我將舉手攻爾、推爾磛巖、焚爾峰巔、無石可為屋隅基址、使爾荒蕪、歷代若是。

昔我滅撒馬利亞、及亞哈家、亦必循此準繩、滅耶路撒冷、必行拂拭、如人拭盤即覆之、

又一天使、旋踵至曰、大邑巴比倫、使萬國飲淫亂之鴆酒、故傾圮、

大聲呼曰、巴比倫大邑、其傾圮乎、其傾圮乎、今為鬼所居、及一切邪神不潔可憎之鳥樊籠、

巨川漲溢、淹巴比倫波濤覆之、四境荒蕪、變為曠野、無人居處、人蹤罕至。
