啟明之晨星歟、何自天而隕乎、屈抑列邦者歟、何見斫於地乎、

爾素為明星、今乃隕自天、昔則敗列國、今乃見滅絕、

爾明光之晨星歟、何竟隕自天哉、勝列國者歟、何竟偃仆塵埃哉、

“ King of Babylon, you thought you were the bright morning star. But now you have fallen from heaven! You once brought down nations. But now you have been thrown down to the earth!

“ How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.

Shining morning star, how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.

How you have fallen from heaven, You star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who defeated the nations!

How art thou fallen from heaven, O day- star, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, that didst lay low the nations!

Shining morning star, how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.

You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared.You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

And he said to them,“ I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall fall, as leaves fall from the vine, like leaves falling from the fig tree.

And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

“ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”

Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back,but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world— he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water.

And I will give him the morning star.

For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.

you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon:“ How the oppressor has ceased, the insolent fury ceased!The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of rulers,that struck the peoples in wrath with unceasing blows, that ruled the nations in anger with unrelenting persecution.

And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key to the shaft of the bottomless pit.

How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and broken! How Babylon has become a horror among the nations!

“ You are my hammer and weapon of war: with you I break nations in pieces; with you I destroy kingdoms;with you I break in pieces the horse and his rider; with you I break in pieces the chariot and the charioteer;with you I break in pieces man and woman; with you I break in pieces the old man and the youth; with you I break in pieces the young man and the young woman;with you I break in pieces the shepherd and his flock; with you I break in pieces the farmer and his team; with you I break in pieces governors and commanders.“ I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea before your very eyes for all the evil that they have done in Zion, declares the Lord.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;
