But suddenly Babylon, too, has fallen. Weep for her. Give her medicine. Perhaps she can yet be healed.

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.When people are saying,“ Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.

Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you.

“ Cry out, O Heshbon, for the town of Ai is destroyed. Weep, O people of Rabbah! Put on your clothes of mourning. Weep and wail, hiding in the hedges, for your god Molech, with his priests and officials, will be hauled off to distant lands.
