There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

Jesse’s family is like a tree that has been cut down. A new little tree will grow from its stump. From its roots a Branch will grow and produce fruit.

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.

Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root.

Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.

And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit.

Then a shoot will grow from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s root stock, a bud will sprout from his roots.

A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.

“ Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,“ That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Then speak to him, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying:“ Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the Lord;

And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said,‘ I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.’From this man’s seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior— Jesus—

But one of the elders said to me,“ Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

‘ Hear, O Joshua, the high priest, You and your companions who sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH.

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

“ I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

‘ In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

And again, Isaiah says:“ There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”

In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious; And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing For those of Israel who have escaped.

“ And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.”

David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah.Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah.Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon.And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob.And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.

And Saul said to him,“ Whose son are you, young man?” So David answered,“ I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.”

( as it is written in the law of the Lord,“ Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord,“ A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:“ Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word;For my eyes have seen Your salvationWhich You have prepared before the face of all peoples,A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

Also the neighbor women gave him a name, saying,“ There is a son born to Naomi.” And they called his name Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
