到那日，雅各的荣美必失色，它肥胖的身躯渐渐消瘦；

你那成群的陌生人要像细尘，暴民要像吹起的糠秕；这事必顷刻之间忽然临到。万军之耶和华必使雷轰、地震、巨响、旋风、暴风，并吞灭的火焰临到它。那时，攻击亚利伊勒列国的军队，与一切攻击亚利伊勒和它城堡，并带给它患难的，必如梦，如夜间的异象；又像饥饿的人在梦中吃饭，醒了仍觉饥肠辘辘；或像口渴的人在梦中喝水，醒了仍觉发昏，心里想喝。攻击锡安山列国的军队也必如此。

羔羊必来吃草，如同在自己的草场；在富有人的废墟，流浪的牲畜也来吃。

因你向我发烈怒，你的狂傲上达我耳中，我要用钩子钩住你的鼻子，将嚼环放在你口里，使你从原路转回去。’

战士在战乱中所穿的靴子，以及那滚在血中的衣服，都必当作柴火燃烧。

耶和华的使者出去，在亚述营中杀了十八万五千人。清早有人起来，看哪，都是死尸。

希律不归荣耀给上帝，所以主的使者立刻击打他，他被虫咬，就断了气。

以赛亚对他们说：“要对你们的主人这样说，耶和华如此说：‘你听见亚述王的仆人亵渎我的话，不要惧怕。看哪，因为我必惊动他的心，他要听见风声就归回本地，在那里我必使他倒在刀下。’”

耶和华说：“现在我要兴起，要高升，要受尊崇。你们怀的是糠秕，生的是碎秸；你们的气息如火吞灭自己。万民必像烧着的石灰，又如斩断的荆棘，在火里燃烧。”你们远方的人，当听我所做的事；你们近处的人，当承认我的大能。锡安的罪人都惧怕，战兢抓住不敬虔的人。我们中间有谁能与吞噬的火同住？我们中间有谁能与不灭的火共存呢？

又毁灭树林和田园的荣华，连魂带体，好像病重的人消逝一样。
