Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow’s case does not come before them.

Your rulers refuse to obey the Lord. They join forces with robbers. All of them love to accept money from those who want special favors. They are always looking for gifts from other people. They don’t stand up in court for children whose fathers have died. They don’t do it for widows either.

Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them.

Your leaders are rebels, the companions of thieves. All of them love bribes and demand payoffs, but they refuse to defend the cause of orphans or fight for the rights of widows.

他说：“某城里有一个审判官，他既不敬畏神，也不尊重人。那城里有一个寡妇，经常到他那里去，说：‘请为我向我的对头讨个公道。’“法官一直不肯，但是后来心里说：‘即使我不敬畏神，也不尊重人，还是因为这寡妇不断地烦扰我，我就为她讨个公道，免得她一直来，到最后使我疲惫不堪！’”

祸哉！那些制定邪恶律例、记录不义判决的！他们拒绝贫弱者的申诉，剥夺我子民中困苦人的公理，使寡妇成为他们的掠物，又掠夺孤儿。

耶和华开庭审判他子民中的长老和首领，说：“就是你们，吞尽了葡萄园；从困苦人那里抢来的东西，就在你们家中。

对他们说：“经上记着：‘我的殿将被称为祷告的殿’，而你们却使它成为贼窝了！”

万军之耶和华说：“我必临近你们施行审判；我要快快作证控告那些行巫术的、通奸的、起假誓的、在工酬上欺压雇工的、欺压孤儿寡妇的、屈枉寄居者的，以及不敬畏我的！

到了第二天，犹太人的首领、长老和经文士们都聚集在耶路撒冷。大祭司亚纳、该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，以及大祭司家族的人都在那里。他们叫彼得和约翰站在中间，质问他们，说：“你们凭着什么能力，以谁的名做这事？”那时，彼得被圣灵充满，对他们说：“民众的首领和长老们，如果我们今天因在一个残疾人身上所行的善事，被查问这个人怎样得到救治，那么，你们大家和所有以色列子民应当知道：这个人健全地站在你们面前，是藉着拿撒勒人耶稣基督的名。这位耶稣基督，你们把他钉上十字架，但是神使他从死人中复活了！这一位就是‘被你们工匠所藐视的石头，它已经成了房角的头块石头。’

与窃贼分赃的，恨恶自己的性命；即使听见要被诅咒，他也不坦白。

耶稣教导他们说：“经上不是记着‘我的殿将被称为万国祷告的殿’吗？而你们却使它成为贼窝了！”

那行事公义、说话正直、厌弃压榨所得的利益、摇手不受贿赂、掩耳不听杀人流血之计、闭眼不看邪恶之事的，

我们犯了罪，行事歪曲，作恶背叛，偏离了你的诫命和法规，没有听从你的仆人众先知——他们奉你的名向我们的君王们、首领们、祖先们和这地所有的子民说话。

对他们说：“经上记着：‘我的殿将成为祷告的殿’，而你们却使它成为贼窝了！”

恶人私下收取贿赂，为要扭曲公正的路途。
