永恆主這麼說：你們要秉公行義，援救被搶奪的脫離欺壓人者的手。寄居的和孤兒寡婦、你們不可欺負；無辜人的血、你們不可讓流在這地方。

世人哪，永恆主已指示了你甚麼是善：永恆主向你要的是甚麼：無非是要你行公義，愛堅貞，謙卑謹慎跟你的上帝同行啊。

你們要為受欺壓的人和孤兒伸冤；要向困苦窮乏人顯義氣。要解救貧寒窮困人，援救他們脫離惡人的手。』

你的大官倔強要造反，跟盜賊作伴；個個都喜愛賄賂，追求私酬；他們不為孤兒伸冤；寡婦的案件呈不到他們面前。

要開口，按公義來判斷，為困苦貧窮的人伸訴。

『萬軍之永恆主曾對你們列祖這麼說：你們要以真正的公平行判斷；各人都要以慈愛和憐憫待弟兄。寡婦和孤兒、寄居的和困苦人、你們都不可欺壓，誰都不可心裏圖謀壞事以害弟兄。』

難道你熱心於香柏木之建築以爭勝，就可以顯王者的派頭麼？你父親不是也喫也喝，也秉公行義麼？那時他真享福啊！他為困苦和貧窮人伸訴；那時他真有福啊！認識我、不就在於此麼？永恆主發神諭說。

地上所有的卑微人，遵行永恆主典章的啊，你們要尋求永恆主；要尋求公義、尋求謙卑，或者當永恆主發怒的日子你們得以蒙隱藏。

你們所應當行的乃是以下這些事；你們各人要和鄰舍說真實話，在城門口要行真正而促致和平的判斷。

所以、王啊，求你悅納我的諫諍，以顯義氣而斷絕罪惡，以憐憫貧困人而除掉罪孽，使你的安樂興隆或者可以延長。』
