禍哉！以法蓮酒徒高傲的冠冕，其榮美竟如花凋殘；他們在肥沃的山谷頂上，被酒擊敗。

竟向天上的主自高，差人將他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。你又讚美那不能看、不能聽、無知無識，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明，沒有將榮耀歸與那手中掌管你氣息，管理你一切行動的神。

禍哉！那給鄰舍酒喝，加上毒物，使人喝醉，為要看見他們下體的人！你滿受羞辱，不得榮耀；你也喝吧，顯明你是未受割禮的！耶和華右手的杯必傳到你那裏，你的榮耀就變為羞辱。

伯沙撒王為他的一千大臣擺設盛筵，與這一千人飲酒。伯沙撒在歡飲之間，吩咐人將他父尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷聖殿所擄掠的金銀器皿拿來，好使王與大臣、王后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。於是他們把聖殿，就是耶路撒冷神殿中所擄掠的金器皿拿來，王和大臣、王后、妃嬪就用這器皿飲酒。他們飲酒，讚美金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明。

耶羅波安王聽見神人向伯特利的壇呼叫的話，就從壇上伸手，說：「拿住他！」王向神人所伸的手卻萎縮了，不能彎回。

禍哉！那些清晨早起，追尋烈酒，因酒狂熱，流連到深夜的人，他們在宴席上彈琴，鼓瑟，擊鼓，吹笛，飲酒，卻不留意耶和華的作為，也不留心他手所做的。

酒能使人傲慢，烈酒使人喧嚷，凡沉溺其中的，都無智慧。

到了希律的生日，希羅底的女兒在眾人面前跳舞，使希律歡喜，

到了第三天，正是法老的生日，他為眾臣僕擺設宴席，使司酒長和司膳長從眾臣僕中抬起頭來，

不從惡人的計謀，不站罪人的道路，不坐傲慢人的座位，惟喜愛耶和華的律法，晝夜思想他的律法；這人便為有福！

禍哉！那些以飲酒稱雄，以調烈酒稱霸的人。他們因受賄賂，就稱惡人為義，將義人的義奪去。

誰有禍患？誰有災難？誰有紛爭？誰有焦慮？誰無故受傷？誰的眼目紅赤？就是那流連飲酒的人，常去尋找調和的酒。酒發紅，在杯中閃爍時，你不可觀看；雖下咽舒暢，終究它必咬你如蛇，刺你如毒蛇。

坐在城門口的談論我，酒徒也以我為歌曲。

與智慧人同行的，必得智慧；和愚昧人作伴的，必受虧損。

這些人也因酒搖晃，因烈酒東倒西歪。祭司和先知因烈酒搖晃，被酒所困，因烈酒東倒西歪。他們錯解默示，審判時不分是非。筵席上都滿了嘔吐的污穢，沒有一處乾淨。

不要醉酒，酒能使人放蕩；要被聖靈充滿。

有一天，恰巧是希律的生日，希律擺設宴席，請了大臣、千夫長和加利利的領袖。

因為你們從前隨從外邦人的心意，生活在淫蕩、情慾、醉酒、荒宴、狂飲和可憎的偶像崇拜中，時候已經夠了。在這些事上，他們見你們不與他們同奔放蕩無度的路就以為怪，毀謗你們。
