They will return to Egypt.For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.”

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name; in that men said of them,‘ These are Yahweh’s people, and have left his land.’

Then they said,“ Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”

A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty- two months was given to him.

Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.
