Then I will return to my lair until they have borne their guilt and seek my face— in their misery they will earnestly seek me.”

I will go back to my lion’s den. I will stay there until they pay the price for their sin. Then they will turn to me. They will suffer so much that they will really want me to help them.”

I will return again to my place, until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face, and in their distress earnestly seek me.

Lord, in trouble they have visited You, They poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

When He slew them, then they sought Him; And they returned and sought earnestly for God.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the Lord your God and obey His voice( for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

‘ But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their guilt—then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land.

Saying to a tree,‘ You are my father,’ And to a stone,‘ You gave birth to me.’ For they have turned their back to Me, and not their face. But in the time of their trouble They will say,‘ Arise and save us.’

Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the Lord your God, And have scattered your charms To alien deities under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ says the Lord.

When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying,‘ Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you,‘ I do not know you, where you are from,’

With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

For behold, the Lord comes out of His place To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; The earth will also disclose her blood, And will no more cover her slain.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the latter days.

Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.

Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.

O Israel, return to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him,“ Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands,‘ You are our gods.’ For in You the fatherless finds mercy.”

Furthermore He said to me,“ Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see greater abominations.”

And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the city.

“ Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you,and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you.

Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O Lord.

“ I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself:‘ You have chastised me, and I was chastised, Like an untrained bull; Restore me, and I will return, For You are the Lord my God.Surely, after my turning, I repented; And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh; I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.

yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying,‘ We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’;and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name:

For what is the hope of the hypocrite, Though he may gain much, If God takes away his life?Will God hear his cry When trouble comes upon him?Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call on God?

And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said,“ O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.“ O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him.And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.

And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord, saying,“ We have sinned against You, because we have both forsaken our God and served the Baals!”So the Lord said to the children of Israel,“ Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites and from the people of Ammon and from the Philistines?Also the Sidonians and Amalekites and Maonites oppressed you; and you cried out to Me, and I delivered you from their hand.Yet you have forsaken Me and served other gods. Therefore I will deliver you no more.“ Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in your time of distress.”And the children of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray.”So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord. And His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel.

Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying,‘ If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations;but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.’

“ When they sin against You( for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to a land far or near;yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying,‘ We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have committed wickedness’;

You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you.And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites,

And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings with which you were defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight because of all the evils that you have committed.

When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.“ Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.Then Solomon spoke:“ The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.I have surely built You an exalted house, And a place for You to dwell in forever.”

For behold, the Lord is coming out of His place; He will come down And tread on the high places of the earth.

“ With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the Lord, But they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, Who remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned— In these ways we continue; And we need to be saved.But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.And there is no one who calls on Your name, Who stirs himself up to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us, And have consumed us because of our iniquities.But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.Do not be furious, O Lord, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look— we all are Your people!

Then he looks at men and says,‘ I have sinned, and perverted what was right, And it did not profit me.’

Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’s glory.

“ This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation,Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you!Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.

Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord; for Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and for twenty years he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel.
