你曾求我说：‘给我立王和首领。’现在你的王在哪里呢？治理你的在哪里呢？让他在你所有的城中拯救你吧！

现在，你的王在哪里呢？让他在你的各城中拯救你吧！你曾说“给我立君王和官长”，那些治理你的又在哪里呢？

你曾求我为你设立君王和首领，现在拯救你的君王在哪里呢？在各城管理你的首领在哪里呢？

现在你的王在哪里？让他拯救你吧！你所有的领袖在哪里？让他们治理你吧！因为论到他们你曾请求：‘把王和领袖赐给我。’

論到王和首領你曾求說：『將王和首領賜給我吧！』那麼你的王在哪裏，好拯救你呢？你的首領都在哪裏，好保衛你呢？

昔爾曰、以王與牧伯賜我、今爾王安在、俾救爾於諸邑、爾之士師安在、

昔爾求我、欲得王公、護爾城邑、今爾王安在、士師安在、

昔爾求我云、願為我設立王公、或作昔爾求我云願為我設王為我立侯伯今爾王安在、治理爾者安在、何不在爾諸邑救護爾、

Where is your king, that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said,‘ Give me a king and princes’?

Where is your king? Wasn’t he supposed to save you? Where are the rulers in all your towns? You said,‘ Give us a king and princes.’

Where now is your king, to save you in all your cities? Where are all your rulers— those of whom you said,“ Give me a king and princes”?

Now where is your king? Let him save you! Where are all the leaders of the land, the king and the officials you demanded of me?

Where now is your king, that he may save you in all your cities, and the rulers you demanded, saying,“ Give me a king and leaders”?

Where then is your king, That he might save you in all your cities; And your judges, to whom you said,“ Give me a king and princes”?

对他说：“看哪，你老了，你的儿子们又不行你的道，所以请你为我们立一个王来治理我们，像其他国家那样。”他们说“请为我们立一个王来治理我们”，这话让撒母耳很愁烦，他就向耶和华祷告。

——耶和华是我们的审判者，耶和华是我们的立法者，耶和华是我们的王，他必拯救我们——

愿以色列因造他的主而欢喜，愿锡安的儿女因他们的王而快乐！

我是耶和华，是你们的圣者，是创造以色列的主，是你们的王。”

拿旦业说：“拉比，你是神的儿子，你是以色列的王！”

于是耶和华派遣了耶路巴力、比丹、耶弗塔、撒母耳。耶和华解救你们脱离四围仇敌的手，你们就安然居住。可是当你们看到亚扪人的王纳哈什来攻击你们，就对我说：‘不，我们必须要一个王统治我们。’其实耶和华你们的神就是你们的王。

你们当歌颂，歌颂神！你们当歌颂，歌颂我们的王；因为神是全地的王。你们当用智慧诗来歌颂他！

因为我们的盾牌属于耶和华，我们的王属于以色列的圣者。

然而，民众不肯听从撒母耳的话，他们说：“不，必须有一个王来统治我们！我们也要像其他国家那样，有自己的王治理我们，率领我们出征，为我们作战。”

神哪，你是我的王，求你命定雅各得拯救！

神哪，你自古以来就是我的王，你在地上施行拯救！

耶和华永永远远是王，列国都要从他的地上灭亡。
