In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel; as a man he struggled with God.

隨後又生了以掃的兄弟，手抓住以掃的腳跟，因此給他起名叫雅各。利百加生下兩個兒子的時候，以撒年正六十歲。

只剩下雅各一人。有一個人來和他摔跤，直到黎明。那人見自己勝不過他，就將他的大腿窩摸了一把，雅各的大腿窩正在摔跤的時候就扭了。那人說：「天黎明了，容我去吧！」雅各說：「你不給我祝福，我就不容你去。」那人說：「你名叫甚麼？」他說：「我名叫雅各。」那人說：「你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列；因為你與神與人較力，都得了勝。」

雙子還沒有生下來，善惡還沒有做出來，只因要顯明神揀選人的旨意，不在乎人的行為，乃在乎召人的主。）

所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代求，使你們可以得醫治。義人祈禱所發的力量是大有功效的。以利亞與我們是一樣性情的人，他懇切禱告，求不要下雨，雨就三年零六個月不下在地上。他又禱告，天就降下雨來，地也生出土產。
