外有刀劍殺戮，內有恐懼籠罩，少男、少女、嬰兒、老人無一倖免。

它的枝條延伸到地中海，嫩枝伸展到幼發拉底河。你為何拆毀了它的籬笆，讓路人隨意摘取葡萄呢？林中的野豬蹂躪它，野獸吞吃它。萬軍之上帝啊，求你回來，求你在天上垂顧我們這棵葡萄樹，這棵你親手栽種和培育的葡萄樹。這樹被砍倒，被焚燒，願你發怒毀滅仇敵。

「人子啊，葡萄木比林中其他木材更好嗎？葡萄木有什麼用呢？能用它製造掛鉤掛東西嗎？它只能用來當柴燒。如果火已經燒了它的兩頭，中間也燒黑了，它還有什麼用呢？它完好無損的時候，尚且不能用來製造工具，被火燒後豈不更沒用了嗎？所以，主耶和華說，我怎樣把林中的葡萄樹丟在火中當柴燒，也必照樣丟棄耶路撒冷的居民。我必嚴懲他們。他們縱然火裡逃生，仍要被火燒滅。我嚴懲他們的時候，他們便知道我是耶和華。

他們必吞噬你們的兒女、牛羊、糧食、葡萄和無花果，用刀劍摧毀你們所依靠的堅城。」

我要把你們驅散到各國，還要拔刀追殺你們。你們的土地將荒廢，城邑將淪為廢墟。

你要對南地的樹林說，『你要聽耶和華的話。主耶和華說，我要在你那裡燃起火來，燒毀你所有的青樹和枯樹。這不熄的烈火要從南到北燒焦一切。

在收割之前，在花已凋謝、葡萄將熟之時，耶和華必毀滅古實人，就像用刀削去葡萄樹的嫩枝，砍掉蔓延的枝條。

我要摧毀你們境內的城邑，拆除你們所有的堡壘。

在你們的上帝耶和華所賜給你們的土地上，他們要把你們圍困在各個城邑中，直到你們所依賴的高大堅固的城牆都倒塌。

「萬軍之耶和華說，『那日要來臨了，就像燒紅的火爐，所有狂妄自大、作惡多端的人都要像碎稭一樣被火燒盡，連根帶枝，蕩然無存。

祂多次拯救他們，他們卻執意背叛，陷入罪中不能自拔。

因此，耶和華要在一日之間剷除以色列的頭和尾。

耶和華說：「我悖逆的兒女有禍了！他們不遵行我的旨意，按自己的計劃行事；未經我同意，擅自與人結盟，不斷犯罪。

我要使你們的城邑淪為廢墟，使你們的敬拜場所荒涼，也不再悅納你們的馨香之祭。
