When I please, I will discipline them, and nations shall be gathered against them when they are bound up for their double iniquity.

When I please, I will punish them; nations will be gathered against them to put them in bonds for their double sin.

I will punish them when I want to. Nations will gather together to fight against them. They will put them in chains because they have committed so many sins.

Now whenever it fits my plan, I will attack you, too. I will call out the armies of the nations to punish you for your multiplied sins.

And as the Lord took delight in doing you good and multiplying you, so the Lord will take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you. And you shall be plucked off the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

‘ Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands and with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the walls. And I will bring them together into the midst of this city.

Writhe and groan, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you shall go out from the city and dwell in the open country; you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be rescued; there the Lord will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.Now many nations are assembled against you, saying,“ Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gaze upon Zion.”But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them as sheaves to the threshing floor.Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs bronze; you shall beat in pieces many peoples; and shall devote their gain to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of the whole earth.

therefore, behold, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from every side and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness.

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.

So will I satisfy my wrath on you, and my jealousy shall depart from you. I will be calm and will no more be angry.

For thus says the Lord God:“ Bring up a vast host against them, and make them an object of terror and a plunder.

Therefore the Lord declares, the Lord of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel:“ Ah, I will get relief from my enemies and avenge myself on my foes.

Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the Assyrians, after whom she lusted.

Though they hire allies among the nations, I will soon gather them up. And the king and princes shall soon writhe because of the tribute.

The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

You have rejected me, declares the Lord; you keep going backward, so I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you— I am weary of relenting.

Set the trumpet to your lips! One like a vulture is over the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant and rebelled against my law.
