When I please, I will punish them; nations will be gathered against them to put them in bonds for their double sin.

“ But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the Lord,“ and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks. (niv)

Just as it pleased the Lord to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess. (niv)

‘ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city. (niv)

Writhe in agony, Daughter Zion, like a woman in labor, for now you must leave the city to camp in the open field. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued. There the Lord will redeem you out of the hand of your enemies.But now many nations are gathered against you. They say,“ Let her be defiled, let our eyes gloat over Zion!”But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord; they do not understand his plan, that he has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.“ Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations.” You will devote their ill- gotten gains to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth. therefore I am going to gather all your lovers, with whom you found pleasure, those you loved as well as those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and will strip you in front of them, and they will see you stark naked. (niv)

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. (niv)

Then my wrath against you will subside and my jealous anger will turn away from you; I will be calm and no longer angry. (niv)

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Bring a mob against them and give them over to terror and plunder. (niv)

Therefore the Lord, the Lord Almighty, the Mighty One of Israel, declares:“ Ah! I will vent my wrath on my foes and avenge myself on my enemies. (niv)

Although they have sold themselves among the nations, I will now gather them together. They will begin to waste away under the oppression of the mighty king. (niv)

The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. (niv)

You have rejected me,” declares the Lord.“ You keep on backsliding. So I will reach out and destroy you; I am tired of holding back. (niv)

“ Put the trumpet to your lips! An eagle is over the house of the Lord because the people have broken my covenant and rebelled against my law. (niv)
