顧天主嘗責先人曰：『主曰：「時將至、爾其拭目視！吾與義塞及猶太、亟欲訂立新盟約。

But showing its fault, God says to them,“ Look, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will complete a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.

「看哪，日子將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新的約。這是耶和華說的。這約不像我拉着他們祖宗的手，領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約。我雖作他們的丈夫，他們卻背了我的約。這是耶和華說的。那些日子以後，我與以色列家所立的約是這樣：我要將我的律法放在他們裏面，寫在他們心上。我要作他們的神，他們要作我的子民。這是耶和華說的。他們各人不再教導自己的鄰舍和弟兄說：『你該認識耶和華』，因為他們從最小的到最大的都必認識我。我要赦免他們的罪孽，不再記得他們的罪惡。這是耶和華說的。」

並新約的中保耶穌，以及所灑的血；這血所說的信息比亞伯的血所說的更美。

他使我們能配作新約的執事，不是文字上的約，而是聖靈的約；因為文字使人死，聖靈能使人活。

我要跟他們立永遠的約，要施恩給他們，絕不轉離；又要把敬畏我的心放在他們心裏，不離棄我。

「主說：那些日子以後，我與他們所立的約是這樣的：我要將我的律法放在他們的心上，又要寫在他們的心思裏。」並說：「他們的罪惡和他們的過犯，我絕不再記得。」

然而我要追念在你幼年時我與你所立的約，也要與你立定永約。當你接納你的姊姊和妹妹時，你要追念你所行的，自覺慚愧；並且我要將她們賞給你做女兒，卻不是按着我與你所立的約。

飯後，他也照樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血所立的新約；你們每逢喝的時候，要如此行，來記念我。」

為此，基督作了新約的中保；因為他的死，贖了人在第一個約之時所犯的罪過，使蒙召的人能得着所應許永遠的產業。

飯後他照樣拿起杯來，說：「這杯是用我的血所立的新約，為你們流出來的。

他又對門徒說：「那些日子將到，你們渴望能看見人子的一個日子，卻看不見。

耶穌對他們說：「這是我立約的血，為許多人流出來的。

並且我要與他們立平安的約，作為永約。我要安頓他們，使他們人數增多，又在他們中間設立我的聖所，直到永遠。

因為這是我立約的血，為許多人流出來，使罪得赦。

「你沒有留意這百姓所說的話嗎？他們說：『耶和華所揀選的二族，他已經棄絕了。』他們這樣藐視我的百姓，不把他們當作國來看待。耶和華如此說：除非我沒有立白日黑夜之約，也未曾安排天和地的定例，否則我不會棄絕雅各的後裔和我僕人大衛的後裔，使大衛的後裔不再治理亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的後裔。我必使他們被擄的人歸回，也必憐憫他們。」

「看哪，日子將到，我要使人的後代和牲畜的種，在以色列家和猶大家繁衍。這是耶和華說的。

「看哪，日子將到，我要為大衛興起公義的苗裔；他必掌王權，行事有智慧，在地上施行公平和公義。這是耶和華說的。

看哪，日子將到，我要使我的百姓以色列和猶大被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。耶和華說：我要使他們回到我所賜給他們祖先之地，他們就得這地為業。」

「看哪，日子將到，人必不再指着那領以色列人從埃及地上來的永生耶和華起誓。這是耶和華說的。

當側耳而聽，來到我這裏；要聽，就必存活。我要與你們立永約，就是應許給大衛那可靠的慈愛。

看哪，日子將到，這城必為耶和華而造，從哈楠業樓直到角門。這是耶和華說的。
