Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.

所以，既然這安息為了一些進入它的人被保留下來，可是由於那些原先得以聽到福音的人，因著不信從而沒有進去，

既有宜入之人、而先聞福音者、因不順故不入、

然安息終必有人享之、而先聞嘉音者不信故不得享、

如是、必別有得享安息者、但先聞福音者、因不信故、而不得享、

可見後來者必有得入者焉。彼先聞慈音者之不得入、徒以執迷不悟故耳。

Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience,

It is still true that some people will enjoy this rest. But those who had the good news announced to them earlier didn’t go in. That’s because they didn’t obey.

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,

So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God.

Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedience,

And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.

But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, and they will enjoy the land that you have despised.

Your names will live on in the curse formulas of my chosen ones. The sovereign LORD will kill you, but he will give his servants another name.

Both Paul and Barnabas replied courageously,“ It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we are turning to the Gentiles.For this is what the Lord has commanded us:‘ I have appointed you to be a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

So go into the main streets and invite everyone you find to the wedding banquet.’And those slaves went out into the streets and gathered all they found, both bad and good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in with those who heard it in faith.

I will strike them with the pestilence, and I will disinherit them; I will make you into a nation that is greater and mightier than they!”

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, proclaimed the gospel to Abraham ahead of time, saying,“ All the nations will be blessed in you.”

“ Therefore be advised that this salvation from God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen!”

So the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the master of the household was furious and said to his slave,‘ Go out quickly to the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’Then the slave said,‘ Sir, what you instructed has been done, and there is still room.’So the master said to his slave,‘ Go out to the highways and country roads and urge people to come in, so that my house will be filled.For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. So then those who have wives should be as those who have none,
