And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕不能進入他的安息呢？難道不是向那些不肯信從的人嗎？

又誓之不得入其安息者誰耶、非不順從者乎、

上帝誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非不信之徒乎、

天主誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非違背違背或作不信之人乎、

天主所誓：「不令入吾安寧」者、又誰耶？非心懷狐疑之諸悖逆乎？

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?

God promised that those people would never enjoy the rest he planned for them. God gave his word when he made that promise. Didn’t he make that promise to those who didn’t obey?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?

And who did He swear to that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in with those who heard it in faith.

When the LORD heard you, he became angry and made this vow:“ Not a single person of this evil generation will see the good land that I promised to give to your ancestors!

they will by no means see the land that I swore to their fathers, nor will any of them who despised me see it.

Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience.

You will by no means enter into the land where I swore to settle you. The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

The LORD said to Moses,“ How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?

You were not willing to go up, however, but instead rebelled against the LORD your God.You complained among yourselves privately and said,“ Because the LORD hates us he brought us from Egypt to deliver us over to the Amorites so they could destroy us!What is going to happen to us? Our brothers have drained away our courage by describing people who are more numerous and taller than we are, and great cities whose defenses appear to be as high as heaven itself! Moreover, they said they saw Anakites there.”So I responded to you,“ Do not be terrified of them!The LORD your God is about to go ahead of you; he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egyptand in the desert, where you saw him carrying you along like a man carries his son. This he did everywhere you went until you came to this very place.”However, through all this you did not have confidence in the LORD your God,

They rejected the fruitful land; they did not believe his promise.They grumbled in their tents; they did not obey the LORD.So he made a solemn vow that he would make them die in the desert,

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not trust me enough to show me as holy before the Israelites, therefore you will not bring this community into the land I have given them.”

And when he sent you from Kadesh-Barnea and told you,“ Go up and possess the land I have given you,” you rebelled against the LORD your God and would neither believe nor obey him.

“ As I swore in my anger,‘ They will never enter my rest!’”
