And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕對不可以進入他的安息呢？不就是向那些不順從的人嗎？

他向誰起誓說、他們必不得以進入他的安息呢？豈不是向那些硬不信從的人是向誰呢？

他又向誰起誓說，他們絕不能進入他的安息呢？難道不是向那些不肯信從的人嗎？

又誓之不得入其安息者誰耶、非不順從者乎、

上帝誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非不信之徒乎、

天主誓之、不許享其安息者誰、非違背違背或作不信之人乎、

天主所誓：「不令入吾安寧」者、又誰耶？非心懷狐疑之諸悖逆乎？

And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed?

God promised that those people would never enjoy the rest he planned for them. God gave his word when he made that promise. Didn’t he make that promise to those who didn’t obey?

And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?

And who did He swear to that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

And to whom did he swear they would never enter into his rest, except those who were disobedient?

To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.

“ And the Lord heard your words and was angered, and he swore,‘ Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers,

shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it.

Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,

not one shall come into the land where I swore that I would make you dwell, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ How long will this people despise me? And how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them?

“ Yet you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God.And you murmured in your tents and said,‘ Because the Lord hated us he has brought us out of the land of Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying,“ The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’Then I said to you,‘ Do not be in dread or afraid of them.The Lord your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.’Yet in spite of this word you did not believe the Lord your God,

Then they despised the pleasant land, having no faith in his promise.They murmured in their tents, and did not obey the voice of the Lord.Therefore he raised his hand and swore to them that he would make them fall in the wilderness,

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”

And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying,‘ Go up and take possession of the land that I have given you,’ then you rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God and did not believe him or obey his voice.

As I swore in my wrath,‘ They shall not enter my rest.’”
